The players are not the problem... They didn't suddenly become Shite.. It doesn't matter who you get in, the problems will remain... Its all down to the coaching methods, which needs to be addressed and starts from going back to the basics..

What did you think of Swansea's defending under Mr Rodgers?

I am firmly of the belief that our best CB pairing is Sakho and Toure at the moment. Louvren for £20M? Wow. Agger binned off for £3M. Wow. Skittles STILL here? Wow. We're a shambles, and that dog of a keeper has not helped anyone either.

With the possible exception of Flanagan, not one of our defenders has improved during Brendan's time here. In fact most of them have gone backwards.

Flanno has definitely improved.. It was kinda mad.. he came out of no-where last season..

For the zillionth time; they need coached.

They are both capable footballers, and they both have some great defensive attributes, but it's an indictment on Rodgers more so than Lovren, Skrtel, and Agger, Toure, etc before them that we cannot consistently defend in this league.

A manager with better defensive awareness would get far more out of the defenders at our disposal. And still be able to go forward and win games.

It's so easy to finger-point some fall-guy when things go shit.

But everyone knows they are not bad defenders. It's just the system that we play messes their heads up and they are struggling to adapt.

Management is the key. Brendan and his team have to learn to manage the defense, so that everyone knows EXACTLY what their roles are, where to run, when to run, zonal/man-to-man, etc...

Right now, it's obvious that none of the defence know their individual and collective roles. It doesnt help either when their partners are rotated week-in, week-out.

It's really not rocket science. Simple management 101.

This team lacks players willing to bleed red and that has th eattitude that I will win that ball no matter what. I will do whatever I can to stop you. I will never in my life let you beat me. Skrtel With all his stupid stuff is the only one left in the team With the attitude. And I am not so sure he has it 100% anymore. Bad times.

I think that while our experienced international defenders are coached on how to actually defend we should afford them some protection during the coaching course with Lucas playing just in front of them.
