Rodwell is languishing at City at the moment. By all accounts there is some talent there - could he be the next Sturridge in terms of signing?

He could add some much needed movement and all round quality to our midfield and a cheeky bid of 8 m or so might not be that far fetched...

Worries about his injury record and attitude might be a concern though.

Even at his best when at everton he wasn't that great. Every Everton fan i know at the time said they would sell him in a heartbeat as he wasn't that good. No thanks we need proven players with experience for our team right now.

I'm happy to go along with the 'not very good argument' but 'players with experience point' is not necessarily a good one! If they have talent, then I believe Brendan can get the best out of them.

Experience is important. When we're in the champions league next season you need experience to help you in tight situations. Players that have been there before and that can keep a calm head and push the team forward.

I think I asked a similar question last year and the general consensus was that he's not really worth pursuing.

I've not seen a great deal of him so have no strong opinions. I remember talking to a City fan who reckoned the talent was there but injuries have been a problem.

That said, it feels that right now we're in a place where if we are adding to the midfield we need to go a step or two up. Bar Gerrard pretty much every midfielder represents a 'project' to some extent so if we're going for someone in the U-23 bracket again, they need to be shit fucking hot.

Radja Nainggolan - I wish we could sign him. Roma just got him on loan from Cagliari in January, and I think they'll sign him permanently in the summer.

Very complete DM.

Bit of a crazy one but I'd love us to sign Ravel Morrison. He's having problems at West Ham so we could probably pick him up at a bargain price, and I think he's worth a gamble. Bit of a nutter but absolutely fantastic potential.

He's supposed to be a complete bellend though.

What's the point anyway? We have the likes of Ibe, Suso and Teixeira who're supposed to be as talented, and we can't give games to them yet.

If there's an attacking player I wouldn't mind signing from the PL, it would have to be Remy.

Dump Borini and Aspas and sign him. He'd be the ideal third striker. Can play up front or wide, and isn't likely to be demanding first team action all the time. Newcastle would probably ask for an obscene amount though.

Edit: Just realised he's on loan from QPR. We should be all over him in the summer.

Remy would be a good fit, yeah. Personally I'm still dreaming that we go for Luis Muriel for that role, though. He looks like he'd be a lot of fun.

As for Morrison, I've read that he might not be quite as bad as people make out. I think he'd be worth the risk at the sort of fee they'd want. Take the point about him being a bit of a luxury - it's more just that the opportunity for a good deal is there, although I do think we're rather lacking a proper alternative to Henderson in the squad.

Muriel has been out for most of the season - first a hamstring injury, and then some major hip issue.

Pacy players with injury problems at a young age - stay away. Shame though - he looked exciting as hell.

For those interested, here are the articles peterhague is referring to, I believe. The headline of the first one doesn't suggest much but the content definitely does. The headline of the second article gives a hint of that. Could be Morrison's PR crew doing their thing, or maybe there's a modicum of truth. Who knows.

Ravel Morrison's unravelling at West Ham United is a tremendous waste

Sam Allardyce denies putting pressure on Ravel Morrison over agent

One for the scousers

"Too much Birkdale, not enough Kirkdale"

Fucking no way should we be thinking about him. See ya.

Could Rodwell be a possible CB? I know Kenny thought that was his best position.
Think we should stay away mind.

Remy would be an excellent signing as our third striker/forward. He's a better option than Borini, Aspas and Moses.
Is the agreed price 7 mill? We should be all over that.

Read a week or so ago that Muriel would be a top target for us if Suarez were to leave.

Im with you on Morrison, he is a huge talent, if any coach is going to get the best out of a troubled talent like him its Rodgers, worth the gamble i reckon, hes apparantly got his head down and is trying to sort his shit out in the last year or so, weird situation at West Ham with him getting pressurised a lot by senior players and Allardyce to change agents, strange.

We missed the boat on Remy, maybe we were interested in the summer? but that rape investigation put paid to that, as mentioned he would cost a fortune now.

I don't know what goes on at Everton's academy but, on reasoned reflection, I suspect it is akin to the process in Star Trek where Kirk gets split into nice but weak Kirk and nasty and violent Kirk:

Maybe Big Dunk is put in the same gizmo that creates two versions of him. You either get incredibly large, knuckle-dragging beasts like Rooney or Barkley, or else rather slight, effete and/or injury prone ones like Rodders or Coleman. Most odd.
