Ahem. My mate did this:

I'll not confirm or deny if Avvy supplied the photoshop skillz. I have never ever used photoshop, so if it were me, I'd say it was a magnificent effort to fight against that shite non-intuitive application.

Not that it was me you understand.

But yeah I have seen nothing from him suggesting he's the missing link in any way.

Dont mind Swedes at all especially not their girls.

I love the way hes been written off when the only person to see him rates him pretty highly.

Youre only given Modo the opportunity to drag this up in 12 months time and hes ace

He's not a girl. I suspect he's modelled himself on Lord Charles, that puppet what used to be on kids telly back when it was shit.

To be fair Im a bit meh about him as well but he's better than the players we have.

I know nothing about him....But, if this guy is an AM, and we are signing him then Dalglish deserves the book thrown at him.

We still don't know what we are going to do with Aquilani and Cole who play in that position. To top that Gerrard seems to be only capable of playing that role these days, as dropping behind seems to be practically impossible. Then there is the small issue of Jonjo Shelvey and possibly Suso coming through....

You have got to be really thick to want to buy another AM, who is similar to all the useless players we have.

He's more a CM than AM and again, I'm not exctied by this signing at all.
Chelsea signing Marin
Man U, Man C looking at Hazard
Arsenal sign Podolski
We sign Elm......fantastic.

Who's next?

OK I get it now, he's Spearings replacement. Never really thought of him as a DM though, but like I said before he is versatile.

I can only judge him on that 8 minute video above but several things stand out. A few people on here have said he's an attacking midfielder but in nearly every passage of play he was the deepest lying midfielder and most of his possession seems to be in his own half. He seems to have a good engine and covers the ground well in a defensive role. He likes to spray the ball around in Alonso-fashion.

From the limited bit I've seen I'd describe him as a combination of Lucas and Alonso in that he covers the territory like Lucas and sprays the ball around like Alonso. As regualr readers will be aware I'd like us to find a better DM than Lucas and maybe Elm could be the man.

The fans always have some sense of players ability, that gets derided by experts and some on the boards who ask "what do we know"?. We all expected Downing would be crap. Enrique was a maybe (Surprising many of us in being a qualified success). Carroll was a 50/50, and Adam another 50/50. Suarez was always more of a 80/20 to succeed player (and that's not hindsight). So my question is - are any of these names (Elmer, Mundane) considered to be pretty strong signings? Or more, sign and hope?

Done deal according to Swedish newspapers.

£8 Million

5 year contract.

Deal was completed last weekend.

His agent refuses to confirm it.
--------------------

Another Henderson imo, prefers to play in the middle but usually plays on the wing.
He's more attacking and he's not afraid to give it a go unlike Hendo.

You know that they are quoting the newspaper that shall not be named right?

Re signing exciting names.......It depends what position players play in.

If you are playing as a DM or a Box to Box...it is flipping hard to stand out, unless you also happen to score shit load of goals like Gerrard/Lampard/Nedved/Vierra....or do an all action defensive duty like Masher. Didi Hamann was a very understated player, and i doubt many would have been thrilled to have him sign for our club...but you cannot quantify how crucial he was for our club.

In that role, i don't really mind us signing a player who is not everyone's darling. I always thought Jeremy Toulalan was a great DM, yet almost no body speaks about him...you only appreciate if you see a couple of games he plays, and even then nobody talks about what he did, because it's by and large a boring job...

But i do want some exciting names in the attacking role!

I remember there was quite an uproar about the amount of money we had paid after a seemingly underwhelming season at Newcastle Alan Hansen even did brief segment on MOTD to justify why we had bought him. Even when he signed there were numerous supporters that didn't rate him for a very long time, until the tide turned seemingly overnight (similar to Lucas)
