Took a few years but I guess I won the Agger vs Sakho debate.

Erm.... we have no way of telling what kind of performances Agger would be putting in if still playing with us today. He could be hit or miss as Sakho currently is and I'm an Agger fan.

One a side note, if we get a new DM will you spend his tenure here hoping he fails so you can lament Lucas? Christ, I can totally see that happening. You seem to pick players you really like, (Lucas, Coutinho, Agger) or really hate (Lallana) and spend most of your posting life finding ways to big one up and put the other down. It's like your man Arn. He only exists to be a cheerleader for Lucas and Rafa. Did we find out if you were Arn yet? Ha.

Riise was very underrated. He suffered for a decline towards the end and I guess a lot of people remember that own goal but for a few seasons he was very solid. And if you watch his a compilation of his goals he looks like the best player ever.

As for sticking stready eddie fullbacks in the side, I don't think we can get away with two of them... we need some attacking capability there.

I was at that game. I'll never forget that immediate silence around the ground from the Liverpool fans.

Well based on his prior performances I'd say that he'd be just fine and injured a lot.

Especially if your midfield's as narrow as ours currently is.

That said, I preferred Riise at LM and never really thought fullback was his best position. He wasn't bad there but he had more than a touch of the Morenos about him, frequently bombing forward and leaving big defensive gaps on his wing which other teams often targeted. Sami regularly had to pull our chestnuts out of the fire when that happened.

I always felt with Agger that although he did have talent, he didn't think like a defender. His positioning was often poor and when he was supposed to be marking a forward, he would allow them to get away from him.

Oh FFS. Aren't you ever going to learn?
Learn?
The way I see it some of you need to get taught.
I'm not the only one here telling you that I was right all along. Other posters do it all the time.
I actually kept quiet about Sakho for a long time even supported him thinking that he was going to get better.
But the only reason I bring up Agger is the amount of flack I received for expressing my opinion about Sakho.
Now it's suddenly fashionable to say that he's shit. Well, no shit?!

I think what bothers you and others is that I was right.

Proof? Look at the reaction a single sentence elicited from some of you.
So, basically it's not about what I said, it's about who said it.

And the whole thing about hating Lucas future replacement is total bullshit because I've even said that we can do better.
Problem is we overpay for crappy players that we already know are average and expect greatness from them. Sorry I can be delusional about a lot of things Suso, Pacheco, etc but at least they were kids. Not "proven" premiership players.

'Learn', as in learn to stop using the forum as a platform to continue your inane arguments. I couldn't give a hairy fuck whether you're right or wrong or (as is always the case in most arguments, it isn't as simple as being right or wrong). I just think that you're again picking up your old habit of banging on, on your strange, obsessive, and rather sad crusades.

So months after me giving up arguing back, what's the result of the "ignore Modo" experiment? Is he still the misunderstood victim who doesn't try to goad posters?

You were talking about Sakho, a player alot of us questioned from day one. Yet you think you've won some internet war about Lallana, or Lucas, or something.. Fuck me.

Stop giving a fuck about "flack" on an internet forum, or what bothers people, or scoring points for being right.

Doc's right in wondering if you will ever learn.

How predictable, protecting your bum boy. You've been fishing for an argument with me for months, you hypocritical boring twat. Go and find another thread.

No, I'm really not. I just don't think it's constructive when you enter a discussion about Modo and that post of yours looks like it was going to turn this into a bigger issue than necessary. I apologise for the tone.

Fair enough, you and me both. I've stayed away from this stuff at the request of others, I just thought it was a moment to point that out. As I have done, I'll leave the argument alone.

You're right, it is largely about who said it and you have to stop and consider the reasons for that.

It's more about the sheer, desperately tiresome repetition of it. There's nothing remotely harmful about a drop of water on the head, but repeated incessantly it becomes one of the most effective torture methods known to man. Modo and his posts are the Chinese water torture of 6CM.

"I actually kept quiet about Sakho for a long time even supported him" Ha, what a bizarre thing to say. Even supported him.

I think the crux of the argument was that from day one you didn't want Sakho to play instead of Agger. Also, it just happened to be Sakho we signed. If we had signed insert player x here, then he would have received your continued dissatisfaction. Regardless of who came in wasn't going to be Agger in your eyes. You need to move on. It isn't Agger vs Sakho any more.

It's fashionable now to call out Sakho because we've had the benefit of watching him as a player for us for the last few seasons. From day one you expressed your opinion on Sakho but it was motivated from a Agger bias. That's the difference man.

Thing is, I'm not "banging on". I've mentioned it twice. If that is enough repetition to elicit these kind of responses then it kinda proves my point. Anyway, I'm not going to bothered by this.
If I understand it correctly it's now generally accepted to crap on Sakho?
Same goes for Allen, Lovren, Lucas or any other players who are deemed "fair game" on here?

Hell no, I only started criticising Sakho when it became apparent that he wasn't a good replacement.
I remember the exact moment I noticed that he had a few problems in his game. I was in the stands at the Palace game at home in 2013. Sakho started. His passing, ball control, heading, positioning looked a bit suspect. From then on it just got clearer.
Then Rodgers for some reason kept Sakho in the team despite Agger's stats proving we were better with him on the pitch.
So no it wasn't from day one. Even my friend who was there with me, he's an agent by the way, wasn't too impressed.
We won and even conceded when Agger came on but still, you see so much more live.

Piffle. Before Sakho it was Skrtel, and for the reason ILD rightly identifies, i.e.neither of them is Agger. If Jocky Hansen in his prime had taken Agger's place you'd have been singing the same endlessly repetitive song.
