And because people think he'll be starting week in and week out.
He's got loads of experience, winning mentality, is a leader and will contribute to the team.

Free, probably short term and low wages if not pay as you play.

We needed a CB in that mould after Carra retired and its risk free.
Makes sense as a fourth CB and I dont see what all the fuss is about.
If we were signing him to be a first team starter I'd worry, but we're not.

*shrugs*

if he doesn't immediately come in as a first teamer then im pretty happy with this, as long as he's not on joe cole wages

How are people so certain that he'll be back up and on about 3quid a week? For all we know he could be a new first choice CB and on 90k a week.
I'm not keen on this fucker, but I guess Brendan and the scouts know what they're doing.

BREAKING: Kolo Toure spotted outside of Melwood - hiding from the reporters:

I'd love to know what attributtes Ross is talking about?

The thing is, as a 4th choice CB its a risk free signing.
I dont want to sign him, but I agree with Rodgers way of thinking.

The important issue is getting Papa. That will take us forward.
This signing is just a bit meh, and not worthy of a lot of discussion.

We've signed 3 scouts from City, I'm guessing Rodgers has gotten the info he needed.

"kolos a good trainer bren, and his family come to training with him"

"he got any kids? "

"......."

You're assuming a lot Hansern

The way I see it, if agger and papa/whoever get injured for 3-4 months, would you want Kolo stepping in?

I'd rather Coates and skrtel

Hell, I'd rather wisdom & Kelly

He got ribboned by a 17 year old who this season, at his best, ran very quickly.

Against top players he'll be on his arse continually

Hansern, who has told you directly that he's the 4th choice centre back? Or are you assuming this?
I've seen no comments from Rodgers on Toure, let alone what priority in the pecking order he is.

I'd much rather we signed him after we'd signed a quality, first choice, first team CB.

I don't want to be seeing captain diet pills and agger being rolled out as our new look defence next season.

We're not signing him as a fourth choice. You don't sign a 32 year old experienced player as a fourth choice. You sign a 36 year old or a 20 year old. If we are signing him, it's for him to play, a lot.

Look, I dont want Toure. But you can see the logic in Rodgers way of thinking.
So he's not got leadership qualities then? Being Arsenal and City captain doesnt show that.
Winning the league with City and Arsenal doesnt matter either right? Or 3 FA cups?
400 apperances doesnt count as experienced.

Bullshit your fat arse.

This signing isnt what this summer is all about. Its a back up. A short term 4th choice.
I'd love to sign Douglas on a free instead. But I'm guessing its difficult to sign someone you cant promise a lot of games to and who wants massive wages.

If we add Ilori and Papa, we've done a great job.
Its not something to get worked up about imho.

The preference of who is signed first is irrelevent. Kolo being signed first doesn't automatically mean he's the priority signing. Some deals take longer than others based on all sorts of factors.

Another CB will come in.

I dont think so at all.
It will be Papa (hopefully) and Agger.
With Wisdom, Ilori and Toure as back ups.
Imho.

But I obviously wrong, and Rodgers will destroy us by signing Toure, Alan Smith and Dean Windass.
