Well this signing has certainly brought the best out in everybody, hasn't it?

For me there's a sliding scale between a big fat "meh" and a "what the fuck have we done that for?" depending on what wages he's on.

I rather suspect it'll end up towards the bottom of the scale, but happy to be proven wrong

Any idea why this hasn't been confirmed yet like the others have and also given a squad number.
According to the official site the squad return tomorrow and
The first part of the day will see the backroom team assess the fitness of the returning players - including new signings such as Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas and Simon Mignolet
No mention of Toure

We're to unveil himself and his brother together?

It think it's because he's on a free isn't it? He could only sign a pre contract but can't officially be confirmed as a player, given he hasn't been released by City and his contract isn't up until this week (yesterday?). I guess we'll officially do an unveiling of the four together soon.

EDIT: according to an ITK, Toure "said" he is signing for us officially on 2nd July.

5ft 11in according to this article from 5 yrs ago:

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...ive-height-is-not-a-problem-article33601.html

Kolo Toure has hit out at suggestions that Arsenal's diminutive defence is fatally undermining their title challenge.

Both Toure and centre-back partner William Gallas are just 5ft 11in, and Arsene Wenger's side have conceded three goals from corners in just seven league games this season.

But the Ivorian said: "I remember the best defenders were Franco Baresi and Fabio Cannavaro. Baresi was not tall but he was a great player, while Cannavaro was the best defender in the world - hopefully I will be the same.

"When you consider set-pieces it's not just the centre-backs, it's everybody who has to defend.

"But I've been playing for the club for seven years, I've played in a Champions League Final, won the Premier League, and I'm really confident about everything this season."

Still stunned we're signing him, he's so shit.

Yeah he's terrible, look at what he's won, it's amazing how two great title winning sides carried him. He's fooled everyone for years.

He might be getting on a bit and he might not be what he was a few years ago, but quit the predictable hyperbole bollocks, he's not "so shit" at all. You'd think we were dragging Ruddock out of retirement the way you carry on.

How can you say that when you've never seen him in a Liverpool jersey ?

Heh, his pedigree suggests he isn't "so shit", nor do the reviews he received last season when he did play (which were favorable), despite people moaning about one incident of him getting done over by Sterling. I mean, I'm sure that never happened to the likes of Hyypia or Carragher, getting ripped by a quick, skillful teenager. He might be past his best, but the exaggeration about his abilities is ridiculous, he's got something none of players have got and it's a bit shite to suggest he fluked it.

Anyway, it's Glen isn't it, he moans about everything.

Scary thing for me is at this point I have more faith in Kolo Toure to defend properly than any of our other defenders bar Enrique.

I keep forgetting he's actually signed for us. I suppose I don't really care that much - I'm waiting on the next CB signing.

The main positive is that he left CIty with the fans reasonably on side.

so because he's won titles that means he's a great player. There's a long list of shit players that have won titles. Doesn't mean anything. You look at a youtube and thats your basis? Im basing my opinion on the fact that whenever we played arsenal and and then city i used to hope he would play as i knew he is capable of making mistakes and that he was the weak link we should attack. The guy is poor in the air, his heading ability is weak at best which even your youtube clip shows. He's not a great reader of the game and has relied on his speed in the past to get him out of trouble. There's no hyperbole he is shit. You like him good for you, but he's definitely no carra replacement in terms of ability. Both arsenal and city fans weren't even bothered when he left.
