Thank god he's coming back. He should never have left. I hope he plays a lot as I genuinely think he has just as much potential as Lazar and Sterling, if not more. He's got the physical skills to dominate.

Skully's right - this is starting to look like we're definitely not signing anyone.

My pal is a Derby season ticket holder.
He says he has been controlling games for them the last few months and is absolute quality.
Hes gutted we have recalled him.

I work with a load of Forest fans who are made up he's been recalled as they have Derby this weekend.

He has the physique to play in the premier league. Derby are better than some of the teams in the premier league so he should be able to have an impact for us, even if it is playing against the lower quality sides like Burnley, QPR and Everton.

This all sounds good, I'm still worried this isn't going to benefit us much, and will probably stunt his development.

aye, the father in law is a diehard derby fan and is disappointed they have lost him.

I just hope this is worth it as playing in that derby side was clearly worth it.

Sterling seemed to get a really big crack of the whip despite being very iffy when I ln the first team for x number of appearances , hopefully they give Ibe the same chance to develop and impress in the first team..

It seems stupid that we loaned him really, he's in the blueprint of Sterling and would have been the perfect replacement from the bench/in lesser games. Then again, I suppose when we loaned him out, we had Sturridge, Balotelli, Lambert etc as viable options.

I was against loaning him too BUT he does seem to have made very good progress recently at Derby. Initially he was just an impact player who was capable of match-winning moments but also capable of disappearing out of games. Very noticeably in the last 4 or 5 weeks he's become a more mature player and gets involved way more than before; he helps out the full back (which he didn't always do previously); if he isn't getting the ball he goes looking for it, and all the whilst he has retained his ability for match-winning moments. He could play a key role for us over the next few months.

I've only seen a few highlights of his games. How does he stack up against Will Hughes for anyone who's seen more than me? He was the next big thing at one stage or has that ship now well and truly sailed?

The problem I thought he had before he left for Derby was that he always wanted to run at the opposition, he either needed to become Leo Messi or learn to choose when he should run with it and when he should pass. Has he improved on that front?

If bringing back two attacking players that we already own is all we do this month then I fucking hope one of them has some goalkeeping qualities we don't know about.

His decision making is still hit-and-miss and he doesn't always seem aware of other players in space but then again Sterling struggled with this too at first.

Totally different types of players, although having said that I'm not sure even Will Hughes knows what type of player he is. Derby seemed to be trying to find a new role for him at the start of the season (because he wasn't progressing as an attacking midfielder) and he played a deep-lying role almost like Alonso but he doesn't have anything like Alonso's range of passing. He's an intelligent player so he actually looked better in the deep-lying role but that's not saying much as he's never impressed me when he's further up the pitch. Iam more convinced than ever that Will Hughes will NEVER make it in the EPL.

Will Hughes is a central midfielder who isn't great at anything, he is quite tricky and looks good on the ball but rarely effective. Ibe is like a more physical Raheem Sterling, almost like a combination of Sterling and John Barnes..............no pressure then Jordan 🙂

There are loads of posters on RAWK who consider it heresy to even mention Ibe and Sterling in the same breath, so vastly superior is Sterling. But I'm not so sure. No doubt Ibe lacks Sterling's subtlety and movement, but to some extent they can be learned over the years. But Ibe has gifts that Sterling will never have: his power running, strength, and shooting, for a start.

He has everything to become a seriously effective attacker.

If we are after a young extremely blonde to the point of albinism midfielder I would rather get Davy Klaassen than Will Hughes.

Yeah, as strong as sterling is at shielding the ball when stationary, I can't see him running through people, using his strength to come out the other side.

Ibe I can, as he's a little bit of a unit.

Kinda think Ibe has a higher ceiling than sterling

Yeah I kinda agree that Ibe has the potential to be better than Sterling but also the Rawk twats have a point.....it's far too early to start comparing them directly.

I've never been the one to wait for stats and CV to tell me how good a player is. I look at them and judge them. I don't let other people tell me what I see and Ibe has always looked the better player to me. Right now I would be playing Ibe in most of our games. Last year in preseason before Sterling's breakout year, I thought Ibe looked much more dangerous and ready to contribute. He just never got the chance from the gaffer. Now Raheem went on to a phenomenal year playing with one of the greatest talents in the game. But Ibe's strength invariably puts hit ceiling higher, but its not just that - its the finishing, decision making and the directness of his movements. His cuts put players on their back foot. Sterling is already great and will be great for us for many years. But Ibe could be absolutely devastating.

To be fair Sterling can play on either wing, at the tip of a diamond and as a striker. So he probably knows a wee bit more about football than Ibe. That far outweighs his physical limitations.

I've seen Ibe play RW, 10, LW and I think he had a 45 minute spell at striker in a preseason game too. I'm willing to admit my opinion looks wrong now. But we'll come back to it. Ibe seems to have overcome his one serious shortcoming... he used to hold on to the ball for too long.
