Yeah we aren't signing anyone.
Are you including injury time?I hope we play the long game here.
It seems stupid that we loaned him really, he's in the blueprint of Sterling and would have been the perfect replacement from the bench/in lesser games. Then again, I suppose when we loaned him out, we had Sturridge, Balotelli, Lambert etc as viable options.
I was against loaning him too BUT he does seem to have made very good progress recently at Derby. Initially he was just an impact player who was capable of match-winning moments but also capable of disappearing out of games. Very noticeably in the last 4 or 5 weeks he's become a more mature player and gets involved way more than before; he helps out the full back (which he didn't always do previously); if he isn't getting the ball he goes looking for it, and all the whilst he has retained his ability for match-winning moments. He could play a key role for us over the next few months.
His decision making is still hit-and-miss and he doesn't always seem aware of other players in space but then again Sterling struggled with this too at first. The problem I thought he had before he left for Derby was that he always wanted to run at the opposition, he either needed to become Leo Messi or learn to choose when he should run with it and when he should pass. Has he improved on that front?
Edited for accuracy. His decision making is still hit-and-miss and he doesn't always seem aware of other players in space but then again Sterling struggles with this tooat first.
Totally different types of players, although having said that I'm not sure even Will Hughes knows what type of player he is. Derby seemed to be trying to find a new role for him at the start of the season (because he wasn't progressing as an attacking midfielder) and he played a deep-lying role almost like Alonso but he doesn't have anything like Alonso's range of passing. He's an intelligent player so he actually looked better in the deep-lying role but that's not saying much as he's never impressed me when he's further up the pitch. Iam more convinced than ever that Will Hughes will NEVER make it in the EPL.I've only seen a few highlights of his games. How does he stack up against Will Hughes for anyone who's seen more than me? He was the next big thing at one stage or has that ship now well and truly sailed?
Yeah, as strong as sterling is at shielding the ball when stationary, I can't see him running through people, using his strength to come out the other side. There are loads of posters on RAWK who consider it heresy to even mention Ibe and Sterling in the same breath, so vastly superior is Sterling. But I'm not so sure. No doubt Ibe lacks Sterling's subtlety and movement, but to some extent they can be learned over the years. But Ibe has gifts that Sterling will never have: his power running, strength, and shooting, for a start.
He has everything to become a seriously effective attacker.

Ibe I can, as he's a little bit of a unit.
Kinda think Ibe has a higher ceiling than sterling
Yeah I kinda agree that Ibe has the potential to be better than Sterling but also the Rawk twats have a point.....it's far too early to start comparing them directly.Yeah, as strong as sterling is at shielding the ball when stationary, I can't see him running through people, using his strength to come out the other side.

Hahahaha.Well Sterling's small enough not to need a high ceiling.
To be fair Sterling can play on either wing, at the tip of a diamond and as a striker. So he probably knows a wee bit more about football than Ibe. That far outweighs his physical limitations.
