According to the echo, we could be looking to exercise our right to recall him in January.

Good move.. only if he gets game time..

That's the key to it. No point bringing him back and his ass is parked on the bench every game.

Derby is a good Club for him at the minute - pushing for Promotion, play good football and for all the stick he gets, Steve McClaren is a decent Coach.

Rumors of Mclaren to Newcastle.

I'd be surprised. There's only two real wide players in our current set up and we've got Manquillo, Johnson, Moreno, Flanigan, Markovic and Henderson all covering them.

I've always rate Ibe and I've been a bit disappointed he hasn't flourished in the same way Sterling has. Not too long ago, I thought Ibe was the more effective player. I hope he gets his chance here.

Hes a good player but as others have noted unless there is a specific role for him to play and an expectation that he will get a decent amount of game time then hes better off where he is

Yep - no need to bring him back - he'll be better staying where he is.

Game time will be better than sitting on the bench for us.

Maybe he looking to recall ibe to give Sterling some respite once Studge returns.

Though like others say, id rather keep him where he is

I have been bitterly disappointed with Markovic. From what I have seen, I think Ibe looks more direct, more of a goal threat and more confident. Hindsight is such a wonderful thing.

Has anyone factored in that he's playing in the Championship?

You know the same division Tom Ince was scoring for fun in...

Who would you drop to play him in our current sqAd?

Rodgers team needs pace. Sterling is pretty much undroppable on account of this and the only other option is Markovic.

I bet that Rodgers would've utilized a pacy option loads more this season if he had someone he could trust (i.e. not Markovic).

If recalled, Ibe would probably come on as a sub for one of Lallana or Coutinho.

Watched him the other night against Leeds he done ok and his work rate is top notch but I think he's just not ready for the step up just yet.
He's with a team who are going places and play lovely football so just leave him there to flourish.

If he was playing for us he would probably be getting criticism for poor finishing. Leave him to develop.

Cup tied for both domestic cups.

Sounds like one of our attackers are off imho. Borini, Lambert or Balo.

Have to agree. I think Rodgers has accepted we're better pushing Sterling up when there's no Sturridge than playing any of those 3. It's more likely that Ibe is cover or replacement for attacking midfielder Sterling. It's easier than trying to sign a good forward and probably, like you say, a sign we're getting rid of someone.

Yeah, that's what I reckon too.

I think it's also with the Europa league midweek games in mind. If we do well in that we're going to have a hell of a lot of games to play before the end of the season.

Didn't Rodgers admit we're in talks to get Origi in early today? That would suggest Ibe is cover for Coutinho/Lallana/Sterling with Origi cover for Sturridge.

I'll be amazed if West Brom / Palace etc haven't taken Lambert by the end of Jan.

Good point about the cups, ample game time for Ibe must be a factor. Feel a bit sorry for Rickie if it's him that goes though.

Would Origi be eligible for the Europa?

Don't think so:

18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally, however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second, third qualifying round or the play-offs of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another club as from the group stage. Moreover, as from the start of the round of 16, a player can be registered in accordance with paragraphs 18.18 to 18.21 below. A substitute player who has not been fielded is entitled to play for another club competing in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League in the course of the same season, provided that he is registered with the UEFA administration in accordance with the present regulations.
