Everton vs Liverpool Match Thread

I know that but probably a Lucas/Meireles partnership is the best CM partnership that involves the name Lucas at the moment. At the present given our dearth of talent available, if it works, and there is a small chance that it might sort of work, it may become a semi regular feature in the next three or four weeks.

"I signed for three years and it's a sad day for everyone if, after a bad start, people think the best solution is to wave a magic wand and look for someone else.

good old roy, comes out fighting.
say day? ha ha
He's been shit but it's a fair enough comment, what do you want him to say? It's getting a bit tedious you dissecting every comment he makes, we all know he's done himself no favours with the media, but people seem to be picking apart every comment
Agger missed two weeks with the injury he picked up in the Sunderland game but he made a miraculous recovery in order to go and play for Denmark where he got injured again,†said the Liverpool manager.

followed by

And the Liverpool manager said: “Konchesky has made a good recovery as has Fernando Torres so all being well we can welcome those two back.

“We get two good ones back, but lose a good one in Kuyt.

bear in mind the agger qoute is from the same interview. now what would agger be thinking if he read that? it's like he is on a misson to marginalize the players.
Quelle surprise you defending Agger. He's fucking right.
whether or not you think agger is waste of space he has talent and is a member of the squad so what's to be gained by roy knocking him? wasn't roy supposed to be an 'arm round the shoulder' type manager, any chance we will see that in the near future?
What's the point in debating it Neil? If Skrtel had done the same (or one of your other hated players) and Roy made those comments, you wouldn't bat an eyelid, but because it's Agger there's an uproar.

Do you not think ANY manager would pissed off with Agger under the same circumstances? It's more or less the same reason Riera fell out of favour with Rafa last season, for pulling the same stunt. He's injured and unavailable to us because he went away on International duty on the back of an injury that prevented him playing games for us, and now we go through the same process again of having to shift people around because of a lack of cover.

I don't not rate Agger, I rate him highly, I just think he's both overhyped on here AND is a perma injured crock who really owes us more than fucking off away with Denmark when he'd barely kicked a ball for us for weeks.

If Roy's fucked off about it, he's got every right to be and I really couldn't give a shit if he's gone public over it, too much of his praise is based on the idea rather than the reality.

Great. Finally Poulson has to be left out through injury and the fucking useless Maxi comes in to the team.

One in, one out.

I'd still take Maxi over Poulsen ANY day though, we don't have alot else with Kuyt being out.

Please don't start labelling Maxi with Poulsen. He might be a bit average at times but he's not cunting well shite.

He seemed decent enough toward the end of last season, like loads of players though he needs several games it seems before he gets going, it's been a bit of a non-starter for him so far this season.

This is really not Maxi's kind of game though. I bet he barely even touches the ball. I'd have chosen Babel or Pacheco ahead of him, I think.

I hate being in the relegation zone we must win tommorow no excuses.
I enjoy being ridiculed by the country so I hope we stay in the drop zone

I learnt this some time ago, but when I get ridicule for us being shit (usually from united fans), just use "I know". Eg,

"Liverpool are shit".
"I know"

"Michael Carrick is better than Steven Gerrard".
"I know".

It leaves them completely bamboozled, and devoid of any retort.

'I think it would be a sad day for football and a very sad day for Liverpool Football club if, after eight games, someone the pomp and circumstance that greeted my arrival was sacked,' said Hodgson. ;D

'Liverpool spent a lot of money paying compensation to Fulham to bring me here. I was feted as one of the best managers around. If eight games into the season people start saying that I'm no good at all and I have to go, that would be a sad day for me and for the club.

'That kind of thing isn't Liverpool's style. Liverpool down the years have always been the opposite of that. This was the club that gave Bill Shankly 15 years to build the club and then spent the next 10 years trying to ensure that the people who worked under Shankly carried his work on. I find speculation about my future insulting to both me and the club.'

Hodgson said: 'The good thing for me is that the new owners are logical people. I am told they have been to Arsenal to see how things are done and there is no doubt they are a fantastic role model as a club.

'Arsene has been given the time and used it wisely and recruited very wisely. He doesn't go to the owner and say, "I want you to be in hock for £150million".

'I don't want people to think Hodgson has no ambition. But Wenger tries to spend wisely the money the club earns. And there is no doubt being the type of coach I am, that is what I want to do as well.
'There are a lot of fans out there who believe everything was better in the past and we can get back to the old days with a flick of the fingers.

'But there is a very large body who realise we've been going in the wrong direction, it needed to be stopped and now it needs to start moving in the right direction.

'That's what I will be trying to do all the time they want me here.'

Hodgson is looking forward to a future where there will be more talk about signing new players than stopping existing ones from leaving.

He admits the pressure of being asked every week whether Fernando Torres is going to stay has even affected his own ability to see the big picture.

'I have to remind myself not to immerse myself in the subject. I start looking through a microscope at miniscule particles of dust trying to see if there is an atom there. Maybe it is just a bit of dust.'
'The cry has gone up, "What has happened to Fernando Torres?" Maybe nothing has - maybe it's just that he is not playing very well and is unhappy about it.

'We are talking football matches here, not rocket science. People make mistakes. Last season Dimitar Berbatov was regarded by fans as not playing well. Now he is.'

You have to buy the paper

Hodgson's comments there are pretty bang on, I don't rate him that highly but it's brutally honest and I don't think people can really argue with his perspective, unless they're cunts.

I think he is gone. His quotes are increasing in their delusion.

Get fucked, what did he say wrong?
