Fellaini out for 6 weeks. Jagielka doubtful.
Good news, that's one or two less players to worry about in the air.
Looks like peinaar (sp) is out as well.

He's always been shit against us, and he got sent off, I do rate him though.

Re: Derby

Considering the week we have just had in court, granddad really could have and should have sounded a bit more "up for it"

hodgson believes both teams are in false positions and by the time the two sides meet again at Anfield in mid-January he expects things to have improved considerably.

"I am looking forward to it. It would've been nice if we could have been in a better position though," said Hodgson ahead of his first Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

"I'm sure my colleague David [Moyes] would be saying the same thing.

"It's a bit unusual to see a derby with both teams down there but I'm pretty sure we'll see both teams in a better position for the next one.

"I suppose there is extra importance because both of us are desperately in need of points - but it would be nice if we could get them."

Hodgson has experienced the Milan derby as manager of Inter but admits there are very few fixtures which can match the experience of a clash between two teams separated only by the few hundred yards of Stanley Park
.

Re: Derby

He started off quite nicely in the media, but he's steadily becoming a PR disaster. If he's like this behind the scenes, no wonder the players look flat as pancakes.

Re: Derby

Is that the confirmed team Andy?

If so, it should be Roy's final game in charge. Fuck me.

good ole roy, defeat is not an option...

unfortunately neither is victory.

Neil what do you think Roy means when he says "it would be nice if we could get them"

Is it that he doesn't expect to or that he would be made up if he won his first Derby?

Re: Derby

When I heard Fellaini was out, I got a bit more confident as we always struggle against him in the air.

And then I saw the team news, and realized who our manager is. FUCK OFF. Last game in charge please.

he's probably going to come up with a comment like:

It has been a difficult week for the club with the ownership saga ongoing - Everton were great, we didnt expect a draw, this is a good result, we both needed a win so points shared is a fair result.

Now we've got rid of H&G, it has to be Roy's turn next

It seems so, maybe hodgson is baseing his decsions on the total football theory. Players should be able to play anywhere on the pitch.

I think we'll win, but the Budgie-faced old cunt has *got* to go
I don't think we'll win 🙁 we're due a beating from them given we've scraped it loads of late while playing (slightly) better.

Who knows though, we might turn a corner or whatever.

I fear we'll win (in turgid, fortunate fashion) and he'll spout some bollocks about the sale process having held him back - and the media will go with it.

Re: Derby

Another upbeat quote...

"A local derby against our fiercest rivals is the best way to bounce back, if we're capable of doing so."

Go get 'em Budgie.

Re: Derby

That just about puts the tin hat on it for me. A man who says THAT two days before the Merseyside derby is not fit to manage Liverpool Football Club. Until I read that I was in favour of giving him more time. Now - somebody find me a pitchfork. >🙁

Re: Derby

Everything Hodgson says is so fucking flat and depressing. Even his response to the NESV takeover was, though completely accurate, completely uninspiring.

Well if he loses this game, i doubt we'll have to put up with him for much longer.
Mate, I hope you're right, but the one false step Broughton and Purslow have taken was to appoint him, so I'm guessing they'll have advised John Henry to give him a bit longer.

Oh well, tonight's a night for hope, so fingers crossed NESV pension the guy off as soon as they get their feet under the LFC table.

Re: Derby

Hodgson has never blamed our league position down to the ownership situation, and thinking he will do so now will prove strictly inaccurate.

I'm hopeful for this match because the team will not need an inspirational team talk to get them going. It's fucking Everton. We should batter them. We have to.

TWELVE nil to us.

with roy in charge I doubt we'd score 12 even if the entire everton team left the pitch 10 minutes into the game

Cheers mate.
The way the first team is shaping up I cant wait for the first of January.

Re: Derby

If Carra's playing fullback again (which incidentally, if it keeps happening, will not help in getting the best out of the old warhorse for the next couple of seasons) I'm glad Pienaar won't be there.

Agger I believe has injured his back. Again.
