Re: Derby

Is he still injured? What about Aurelio? (Can't imagine we've actually kept on to him).

What about Maxi at LW? I'd even play Babel or Pacheco or Shelvey ahead of Jova based on his performances so far to be honest.

Maxi's fucking shit. Aurelio's fucking shit, and always fucking injured. Konchesky's fucking shit, and probably fucking injured.

We're not exactly flush with options.

And while I like what little I've seen of Shelvey, and would obviously prefer him to that cunt Crapsen or that other cunt Lucarse, I'm not sure a Merseyside derby is th best place for a 17 year old to make his debut.

You are probably right about Shelvey. And you're certainly right about our apparent lack of options.

The more I think of it as a team I reckon we'd be more in balance with Cole on LW and Gerrard in the hole. Someone needs to step up and show some class in that CM position. Raul is a cert and then one of Poulsen, Lucas or Shelvey should get the chance. Or perhaps Irwin? I've always liked him at Reserve-level aren't he supposed to be in the ready-age now?

OR we could move Johnson into the RW position as I know a lot on here has been advocating of late. Move Kuyt to LW and play Cole in the hole.

Actually I give up.

Re: Derby

Nightmare Sunny.

Let's hope & pray we win, nothing worse than gloating fucking bitter bluenoses in number.

Re: Derby

Having seen that Lawrenson says in the "Echo" that Everton have the better players, I'm now happier about our chances than I was.

Re: Derby

It looks like Jagielka, Eveton's best defender, is unlikely to play due to a hamstring strain.

I already posted that team. Sadly Roy won't pick it.

Re: Derby

Roy will set his stall out for a draw and to contain the Bitters.

His lack of ambition is criminal. Should we lose, he should be sacked. End of!

But if we draw, he should keep his job? Er, and you wonder why he's defensive?

Re: Derby

I think if the sale is completed or close to by Sunday, we'll win otherwise we'll lose.

That makes no logical sense at all.

And yet I think you're probably right.

Re: Derby

I'm no fan of Webb's but I'll bet those figures aren't as bad as they were with that 24-carat @rsehole Elleray.

Re: Derby

No Kuyt or Agger, probably. So... same team as I (and Squiggles) posted before, but with Wash in for Kuyt, and Skrtel in for Agger.

Re: Derby

Liverpool receive welcome Torres injury boost
By ESPNsoccernet staff

Liverpool believe there is a chance star striker Fernando Torres will be fit to start Sunday's Merseyside derby against Everton.

Torres missed Spain's Euro 2012 qualifying victories over Lithuania and Scotland due to an adductor strain but he has responded well to treatment and could figure on the team sheet at Goodison.

News of the striker's possible availability is welcome indeed for Liverpool, who have seen Dirk Kuyt suffer an ankle injury that could rule him out for the remainder of 2010. Kuyt sustained the injury in Netherlands' 4-1 win over Sweden on Tuesday night.

Liverpool's head of sports science and sports medicine Peter Brukner told the club's official website: "Fernando is doing pretty well. He had a slight tear in one of his adductor muscles very early on in the game against Blackpool that prevented him going away with Spain in the internationals.

"He has had intense treatment over the last ten days and responded very well to that treatment. He's ready to resume training today [Wednesday] and if we can build up his training and get through the next few days, then we are optimistic but not certain that he will be able to line up against Everton.

"It's still early days but so far so good. He has responded well to the treatment but we will just have to wait and see whether he is able to build up his training sufficiently. He'll join in the full training session on Thursday, then build up Friday and Saturday.

"If he gets through these sessions and he is able to stretch out fully and has no after effect from the sessions then he will be able to play. So we are optimistic he will be ready but it's still too early to say for sure."

Defender Daniel Agger was taken off in the first half of Denmark's match with Cyprus on Tuesday so must be considered a doubt for Sunday's game.

Yeah, he'll probably be completely fit in a couple of years. Unfortunately, by then, it'll be time to retire.

Re: Derby

Konchesky will also be back according to Brukner. At least he will be in full training from tomorrow.
