Heard Meireles scored a cracker last night. Good for him.
[/quote]

Yeah, it really was.

Shame he hasn't looked anywhere close to scoring for us though, hey?

TBF is you play either that deep/that wide and you're not used to is then you'll struggle

plus we've been aaaaaaawful. Gerrard hasn't looked like scoring really either. Luckily though he has

Re: Derby

I realise that you want Agger to play at CB no matter what, but putting in Emile Heskey is a bit desperate.

Not as desperate as playing Christian Crapsen, the Worst Holding Midfielder In The World (tm)

Yeah I agree. It would be useful if Roy know what Meirelesses best position was and actually played him there.

Re: Derby

If ever there was a game where we needed a team of Carraghers, this is it! I want the players to show some heart and play for the shirt.

This is a 6 pointer for us! Come on you REDMEN!

----------------Reina---------------------
Kelly--Carragher-Skrtel--Konchesky
Johnson-Gerrard--Meireles--Cole---
--------------------Jovanovic-----------
---------------Torres--------------------

Agger is a perma injured crock so it's useless having any faith in him being there, Kuyt is out, Maxi is woeful right now and useless in these sort of games, Cole needs to pull his finger out, Johnson needs to turn up conscious and the back four need to remember how to head the ball and defend as a unit, closer together. Oh and Torres needs to be fit and someone needs to send him a photo of what a goal looks like.

I really believe we're going to win on Sunday.

I'm starting to think that way 🙂

I've said it before, but Fernando is FINALLY gonna turn it on.

If we played that team, I would definitely swap Cole and Jovanovic round. Cole might actually create something behind Torres, while Jova offers more defensive solidity (and speed) on the flank.

Yeah fair do's, I was thinking more of him playing the centre-forward role though rather than the creative role, he seems able to put himself about a bit, I think the middle of the park will need to be as industrious as ever, though I'm loathed to put either of our so called 'defensive-midfielders' in there.

Plus it'd be interesting to see how he performs upfront.

Yes, I have now also changed my mind; we'll lose.

Oncy?

Re: Derby

It'll be the usual mad scramble where form goes out of the window. Given that we won't have to play any football we'll fluke it with a deflected long range shot. EFC 0 LFC 1.

Re: Derby

There will be chances because both teams are defending like morons at the minute, but it will still be low scoring, scrappy, miserable football. It always is.

The only pleasure will come from winning.

"FIT".

I wonder how fit though. That's the worry.

UUUurrrggghh Lucas and Poulsen. No RM, No LM, out of form Torres, Shite Right back.

Welcome to Hodgsons last match in charge.

Re: Derby

If Poulsen plays like he did at Old Toilet we may all be pleasantly surprised.

[Resumes frantic search for a straw to clutch]
