Well I actually think £20m for an injury prone player who'll be 28 in December actually has the potential to be a very good deal, provided the money is invested in a similar sort of signing that Agger (and then Skrtel) was in the first place: one of the best young defenders in the world. I've got more or less zero confidence in Rodgers going for that player, though.

If this does indeed turn out to be a "sell to fund other transfers" deal then rodgers better know what the fuck he's doing because this can backfire very quickly. Like everyone has said , words are great but all that's out the window is results aren't decent . Interesting times for rodgers , Carroll he could probably get away with but if he sells a popular player to city then he better have decent deals lined up . Again this is Liverpool not Swansea fucking city .
