Agger don't don't don't

Manchester City have been told they will have to pay more than £22m to lure Daniel Agger from Liverpool, having made an informal approach for the Denmark international.
The Premier League champions have registered their interest in the 27-year-old with Liverpool, who are reluctant to lose the stylish defender but have yet to finalise a new contract with a player who has two years remaining on his current deal.
City value Agger at about £18m, though have not submitted an offer, but it would take an improved fee to tempt Liverpool to sell. The Anfield club considers the £22m that City paid to Everton for Joleon Lescott in 2009 as a benchmark figure on Agger, a player who would threaten the England international's first-team place at the Etihad Stadium, although could be interested in a cash-plus-player deal. Adam Johnson is a potential makeweight having found his chances limited under Roberto Mancini towards the end of last season.
Agger has had serious injury problems throughout his six years at Liverpool but would represent a major loss to the manager, Brendan Rodgers, should City further their interest. He was omitted from the Liverpool squad that travelled to Belarus to play FC Gomel in the Europa League third qualifying round last week but that, Rodgers later revealed, was to allow the centre-half to work on his conditioning at Melwood. Agger's agent, Per Steffensen, claimed he was unaware of the reason for the omission and denied that Liverpool had offered his client a new contract.
Craig Bellamy is closer to an Anfield exit and could complete a return to Cardiff City within days. Rodgers had wanted to keep the 34-year-old at Liverpool but the club has reluctantly granted the striker's request to be closer to his family in south Wales. Queens Park Rangers are also keen on the Wales international, who is now available to complete a transfer following Team GB's elimination from the Olympic Games, but his preference is to rejoin his hometown club where he spent 2010-11 on loan.
Liverpool are expected to advance efforts to sign Joe Allen following Team GB's elimination at the Olympics and Michael Laudrup, who replaced Rodgers as the Swansea City manager, will hold talks with the £15m-rated midfielder about his future on Wednesday. Swansea have rejected an approach of £12m plus Jonjo Shelvey on a season-long loan from Liverpool and issued a statement accusing Rodgers of reneging on a written agreement not to sign their players for 12 months after his own move to Merseyside.
Laudrup said: "Joe Allen showed up today at the training ground, he did not train but I had a small chat with him, but we did not touch the subject right now. I did not think it was the proper moment, but we will have to talk about that with the player to see what he wants so we can say something official, otherwise the rumours will go on until 31 August, which is not in anyone's interest. On Wednesday he will be back in training with the other two guys who have been at the Olympics and then we will have some talks so it does not go on until the last day of the transfer window."

Transfers could be arranged from the start of June.
They could be signed from the start of July.
They can be signed UNTIL the end of August.
So the window effectively has been opened for 2 and a bit months.
(and 2 and bit months ago i was telling people not to fucking panic until much later)
The window shuts in less than three weeks.
And our squad is a fucking mess.

And with question marks, BIG ones hanging over Bellamy, Skrtel, Agger and Carroll.

Well look, if you think everythings rosy then great.
I think its getting a tad on the shit yourself side.

Completely agree. We're less than two weeks away from the start of the season and will then be fast approaching a run of fixtures that could see us well into the bottom half of the table if we don't hit the ground running.

The sad thing is that after these last few years I had no hope that anything would be any different this time round.

Yes, and so is the fucking nonsense surrounding the club's apparent treatment of its own players. If fans want to be concerned about it, they have a damn right to be concerned.

Being concerned as opposed to ruining nearly every topic with negative drivel are two seperate issues.
We're all concerned but some havent pushed the panic button just yet.

The only fuck up so far is the press conference with Rodgers answer about Carroll.

And the upshot of all of that, in your opinion, is that BR is not the man to manage this club?
I never said things were rosy, clearly they are not. But I'm more than a little surprised to see you blame the new gaffer for this. Unless this is one of those Oncy being hilariously sarcastic moments that has passed me by (again).

If a noob came here with your views he'd be labelled as Sky-generation fuckwit and sent on his way.

.

That's a wild generalisation and it isn't a fair representation of all of those views that you seem to find so abhorrent.

Stu you really are sometimes unbelievably fucking thick.

The apparent kind

Smart arse, as per. Truth is you, like myself & everyone else, haven't got a fucking clue what is going on & how players are 'being treated'. You get your info/gossip/news from the same places the rest of us do and the majority of the time it's some made up fucking source on Twitter or some Journo feeding off scraps.

No one is ruining threads by being negative. I guess this is just the new 'thing' on here.

The biggest issue is people shouting down those with legitimate concerns as 'Pushing panic buttons' and 'ruining threads'
We GET that you are happy as fuck Hansern. We GET that you dont thing there is any need to be negative or 'push panic buttons' please GET that some people dont agree.

What's worrying me more and more is the suspicion that Rodgers isn't being given his head when it comes to shaping his squad. The man has talent, a great attitude and as far as we can tell a good attitude, but it seems as though anyone deemed to be worth around £20m is being touted around the market. Rodgers will get all the flak if things go badly. He needs to be given the liberty to succeed or fail on his terms and via his own ability.

So why oppose anyone else's view? Relativism isn't a very good way of dismissing other arguments. It's a good approach if you want to shut up, log off and do something else. (And if you can't resist childish insults, maybe you'd be best advised to do just that.)

There arent many views I find abhorrent. There are maybe 5-6 posters who fill each topic with negativity.
Thats notva wild generalisation at all.

But hey, fuck it. Let the carry on. I'm not going to spend anymore time thinking about it.

If. IF he is the man pulling all the strings, he is the bravest manager on the planet.

Spend as much time as you want. Just let others do the same.

Thats because they are NEGATIVE about our season and prospects Hansern. Remember we talked in group about RESPECTING THE OPINIONS OF OTHERS.

I'm not dismissing your argument. I asked you a straight question and you came back with a smart arse answer, as you nearly always do when someone asks you a direct question.

Heh, the point of all this is obvs that the forums threads wont be filled with negative drivel that most of the time isnt coherrent with the topic or discussion at hand. Nothing else. If you have a negative view your entitled to it obvs, but it should be in line with what is discussed.

But same same mate. Dont want to get into anything with you as you're not one of said posters.

That post is out of line. No need for that shit.
Dont make me crack out the shrug gif AGAIN!!

So people can't react to negativity by arguing the toss, but posters can be as negative as they want cos its freedom of speech?

Anyway, Macca's Guardian article says that Bellamy wants to return to his family, something a few people have said of late, and that Agger's contract talks haven't gone anywhere, so while we're getting concerned about what's apparent, it might be worth considering these 'apparent' underlying reasons too, before we hang Rodgers.

If agger goes, he goes

I'm reserving my annoyance/negativity until October. By then we'll have our signings, well see how Rodgers wants us to play, and we'll have our hardest games done.

My boots are, and shall remain, chilled.
