will be interesting to see if carra goes straight back into the side or whether kenny will try and build up a partnership of agger and skrtel.

Great player, great servant, great organiser, but now too short of pace. I'd give t'others a go to try and make a partnership. Carra ain't gonna get any quicker, that is a fact.

"Organiser" is a key word though. It remains to be seen whether Agger and Skrtel between them can cover that aspect of what Carra brings to the side. IMO you may be writing him off too soon, especially if the break does him good.

The problem I see it as JJ, is that Carra is marshaling the defence to cover for his lack of pace. It has to be Agger + 1 as he is a left footer, and despite lacking Carras organisation they have managed to keep a clean sheet since he left 2.5 games ago. Ok, 45 mins was Coates + Skrtel, followed by 2 games with Agger + Skrtel, but despite not having JC on the pitch, despite having the rusty GlenJo returning at RB, Agger (45 intl caps) and Skrtel (52 intl caps) somehow managed to co-ordinate themselves and we didn't concede. Ok, the opposition was not top notch I hear you say, but neither were Bolton, Norwich or Stoke (league).

We need to plan for life without him at some stage and 2 clean sheets in a row says to me to keep trying what we have.

So I'm not alone in the Agger+1 camp...

Ehm... no?

Just saying...anyone remember that "Should Carra be dropped" thread?

There is a difference between dropping him and him getting injured & not automatically getting his place back - esp when the current 2 are doing well.

Not sure. I mean if Agger and Skrts are playing hasnt Carra basically been dropped ?

No, Carra has been injured. IMHO, if he doesn't get picked next game - if fit - he hasn't been dropped, but he hasn't got a recall either and rightly so if the current players are playing well.

Sporten.dk today asked Daniel Agger how satisfied he is with life in Liverpool.

- I'm not looking to be anywhere else. Liverpool is such a great club, you can't find a better club anywhere in the world. It's top drawer in every way possible. You feel welcome outside the pitch, people are very helpful, they've got the right facilities, the culture and the fans. Nothing is missing.

They smacked a few Mancs around. Nothing major.

*What brawl?

Daniel Agger, meanwhile, admits he may have to deal with his body never being injury free.

“It's going well right now,” said Agger who was sidelines for two games this season with a rib injury.

“It's not perfect, but it will probably never be that.

“My body might not have been built to play football.

“You have to learn to live with it and I have done that. It has been necessary at times.”
