The Donkey

I'm just generally tired of him. I've got no interest in engaging in any further conversations about him (and yet here I am). He was shit more or less from the get go and he remains shit now.

He knows he's getting fucked off in the summer. We know it too. I think both parties are just clock watching at this point.

We made a mistake not strengthening in Jan (once again) to shore us up for a title run in.

Last night, I was lying in bed trying to think of any footballer, past or present, who compares to Nunez, and I came up empty.

So instead, I started mixing up a cocktail: a splash of Djibril Cisses finishing, a dash of N’Gog’s build, a hefty pour of Heskey’s first touch, and Origis knack for last minute winners, all topped off with David Seaman’s haircut and Joey Barton’s intelligence… plus a generous shot of his talent for getting sent off. A drink strong enough to make any customer sink their fist into a wall, served in a dainty, fragile glass that cracks under pressure.

And then I was fell asleep satisfied it's possible to sum up Darwin fucking Nunez.
Maybe that Balotelli has been coached out of him and this restrained version of Nunez just isnt feeling all comfortable.

Maybe that fiery crazy Latino fire needs to be released.

I have to admit when Nunez goes cray cray, he does make me laugh and mad at the same time. Yet in those moments there are flashes of a maverick there. Can’t remember the last time any player has done that.

If by encourage you mean get into the Liverpool taxi drivers biggest WhatsApp group and offer thousands to anyone who runs over the cunt then yes, I would encourage that.

Under Klopp Nunez was fun and chaos with not enough goals. Under Slot he's just not enough goals

I do agree with this contemporary consensus that there is a drought when it comes to strikers. I mean, who are we going to buy when we get rid of Nunez? Arsenal couldn't identify anyone. I bet you they're shite. Football is a bit weird at the moment, there are lots of nice forwards, no strikers.
Reinforces the 'keep Salah' campaign.

That’s because leading the line on your own for a top team is an impossible job and only a handful of footballers can really pull it off. You need a Drogba/Kane/Lewandowski combination of goal-scoring talent and physical presence to make this role work. All of the legendary strikers of yesteryear - your Shearers, Fowlers, Shevchenkos, Rauls, Andy Coles etc - played as part of a front 2.

There is some truth to this, but it's reason enough to sell him.

No room for such mentally fragile player.... especially when the talent is not shining through.

It has to be Isak or bust but I reckon we'll go for Gordon as a Diaz replacement again and they surely won't let both leave

I'd take Gordon over Diaz, and then just go for a false nine style player as long as we're keeping Salah. There may not be another Bobby, but there must be good players that are capable of playing that kind of role, surely..

I like Isak, but are we sure he’s the one we’ll go for if Salah stays?

Feels like we’re more likely to go for a falsev9/ Firmino type who gels it all together, scores more than Nunez and isn’t injured as often as Jota.

Feel like Isak only happens if we change our style a little - and that only happens as a consequence of Salah leaving.

Cunha is just a no-brainer at 63m. In terms of Gordon, last season we had an opportunity but when that fell through he signed a new contract and Newcastle are said to value him at 90m or something ridiculous. I like him a lot, but he isn't that much of an upgrade on what we have with Gakkers and Diaz. Even if we sell Diaz I can't see it. That ship sailed last summer.

Maybe he got a Liverpool clause or CL clause inserted - who knows - seems like he wants to play for Liverpool, if it is to happen, it’ll be sooner rather than later.
