The Donkey

If it is indeed £70m then its criminal to reject it. We would get around half that from any club with a brain.
If we accwpt the first offer and do not negotiate fir a higher price they may think he really is shit if the dont even haggle with us. Get it ?

let Edwards do his job, it was the offer. It wasn't first and final offer.
I think if he gets the £75m+ he wants, he will make Salah and VVD a final take it or leave it offer feeling that he could replace them in the summer.

I’m starting to feel sorry for poor Darwin - it’s only 12 months ago we were told he was the best number 9 in the world and if you discounted Mo’s penalties and only looked at minutes played and added in his assists, then he was our best forward ever, on track for the “balloon door” and better than Haaland.

12 months later we’d settle for half a bag of stale camel poo as compensation and the only Greek teen virgin in existence with no girlfriend, as a replacement.

We can rarely complain about the fees we receive for players. If a deal is to be done, I do trust Edwards and Hughes to secure more than we expected, especially considering it’s his former manager who is interested. There isn’t as easy a Plan B when that’s the case. From their perspective, it’s very targeted, and they’re less likely to walk away. The club just needs to keep the conversations ongoing.

The previous posts suggest there were only verbal proposals, nothing official, so it stands to reason we've told them what we want and we're waiting for them to return with a formal bid.

James Pearce lives to piss on our happiness.
