I'd just like to point out thatdespite often being wrong, I bigged up going for Johnson at £3m, and many on this site thought he was either too slow, or shite.
I thank you 😉

Liverpool are said to be considering a move for Manchester City’s Adam Johnson. It is believed that Kenny Dalglish will attempt to bring the winger to Anfield, should he fail in his efforts of talking Aston Villa down from their £20m valuation of Stewart Downing.
Negotiations between Liverpool and Aston Villa are currently hanging by a thread, with their American owners trying to price Liverpool out of a move for their prized asset. But sources suggest that Adam Johnson could be on Dalglish’s radar should the deal for Downing collapse completely.
Adam Johnson remains a bit-part player at Eastlands, and the imminent influx of summer additions is likely to push him further down the pecking order. It is believed that the 23-year-old has asked the club to listen to offers for him as he hopes to achieve first team football elsewhere.
And Liverpool, with the lure of a long-term rebuilding project focused around young British talent, could prove to be the perfect destination for Johnson; although City are unlikely to let the winger leave for less than £16m – especially not to a rival club.
Kopsource rating: 73% – (Kopsource ratings explained)
Player rating: 72% Player potential: 80% Value for money: 80% Likelihood: 50%
It has been given on good authority that Adam Johnson is looking for a way out of his Eastlands nightmare, although reports surrounding a potential bid for the player seem to be somewhat unfounded, unfortunately. However, even though this story doesn’t necessarily indicate an imminent move for the player, it does highlight the 23-year-old as a very realistic option.
Young, British and full of potential, Johnson fits in perfectly with Dalglish and FSG’s vision for the club, which has seen them invest as they aim to rebuild for the future.
The only stumbling block would come in form of City’s valuation of the player. Mind, anything below £17m would be a very good deal; although that will undoubtedly be strongly debated.
