Yes or no.

Feel free to expand on your reasons, including the club/Rodgers handling of his & this affair thus far.

I'm undecided.

He won't go on loan, so unless someone offers 20M for the big lump of glue, we're lumbered with him.

I say yes.

Maybe hopefully, but I think Rodgers originally meant to try to give Carroll a kick up the arse & make sure he knew he had to work to stay here, despite the massive price tag & plaudits he was getting after the euros.

Mourhino has usually done this to a player successfully, getting the best out of them in doing so.

I'd actually be surprised should we let him go, but perhaps I'm being naive.

I say yes.

I think it's clear that Mr Rodgers would sell him, but an offer good enough to tempt us will not come in.

Blessing in disguise

I'm not sure. I'd only want him to leave if it was a figure of £20m or more, ideally not to Newcastle because he'd probably never stop harping about how he was mistreated here and never wanted to leave his home, or some crap like that. I still think he can do a very good job for us, there is a good player in there, but like I said, if we're offered £20m or more (unlikely to happen I know) let someone else find out.

Would keep him unless we get a ridiculous offer, but sadly i think he'll go and it'll be back to Newcastle.

He is a huge investment for us. And he looks like a man capable of repaying this one. We need what he offers to the squad, and he seem destined to fight for his place. A hungry monsterous striker can only do us good!

he's going to get hit by an egg lorry a week on Wednesday, and Jon will meet a handsome prince called Rasheed

Yeah, agree with Peter. There will be compromize offer or possibly include Ba in the deal.

I dont want to sell him, but the talk about it freeing up funds for other players is one of the few reasons I'll accept it.
We need to back Rodgers 100 % here so that he can get all the additions to his squad/first team.
Most likely it will bite us in the arse down the line, but what else is new. The success of Liverpool is far more important than one player.

The plan B stuff is really annoying though.

Hopefully we'll get 13-14M plus Ba for him. I don't see any other club coming in for him unfortunately.

Plan b stuff?

What, the English media insistence that Rodgers is wasting a plan B?

He doesn't have a plan B! The idea is to have a perfect plan A so a plan B isn't needed, simply change plan A ever so slightly when it's not effective as opposed to changing philosophy or style. Whether that is right or not is arguable, but it's fact.

I don't think he is willing to take up the gaffer's job if the owner told him he need to sell in order to generate his transfer fund. So I don't agree with the idea that AC need to be sold for other players to come in.

We should have bought more before we sell AC.

We might be prepared to come down a bit on the price, but I doubt other clubs will be willing to go high enough to meet us halfway. I reckon he'll still be here, at least for now.

He hasn't even played a single game of professional football, I don't quite understand how you come to the conclusion that he's premiership proven.

Ha! My point is that keeping him just because he can be a plan b coming off the bench is just stupid.
If we keep him it has to be because he can be a part of the first team.

Whoooossshhh.

Google 'plan b' & look at the first wiki entry you see.

Yes, he'll be gone. BR has made it perfectly clear that he doesn't fit into his game plan. It's a real pity, cos he was just starting to play well.

On a brighter note, it's nice to see that BR is being adamant that he's not going to sell him for peanuts. Although when push comes to shove, if he's really that desperate to offload him, he WILL go for fuck all. I can see this being dragged out for the entire window, no one making a good enough bid, and at the last miute he'll go to Newcastle for about 8 million.

Has Mourinho ever done it before getting to know and gaining the trust of the player first?
I think that might be important, if I had yet to even train under a new boss and he already appeared critical of me I'm not sure how I'd react
