Zaha

I'm always wary of pacey wingers who play for counter-attacking sides. The first thing I look for to determine whether they'd make the step up is the level of technical ability (it feels like the easiest thing for your average fan at home to ascertain).

I've clearly not seen as much of Zaha as you guys but when I have he looks like one of those players that's never fully in control of what he's trying to do.

It's like the pace and (some) skill are there but the speed of thought and ability to execute are not. Take away the space he has at Palace and that's a big problem.

Am I way off base? Has he developed past this point?

He seems to have improved a lot this season, I think LTW posted some goals and assists stats which are quite impressive.

Anyway, he's had one big move that didn't work out, so when he leaves - possibly this summer - I suspect he might prefer to stay in London, with Spurs interested again (they were sniffing around last summer too).

There were plenty of posters who were equally skeptical of Mane last summer, particularly at £30m+.

I think Zaha is a very good player, he's always had the pace & skills but not the work rate but the penny seems to have dropped. A bit like Moses, who was terrible for us but now looks awesome in a set position and given the confidence of a long run in the side.

Put it another way - if the choice was Zaha or Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer, who would you want?

I've said it before, but Zaha shouldn't be judged on what he achieved at Utd, it was a move when he was very young and it was under Moyes.

Zaha to spurs does make sense however, as would a move to Arsenal.
