That's a fair assessment however it was exactly the game like Monday's that proved to much for us last season.
We lost all 3 games away to the other top 4 sides last season.
I think we have the squad to beat the other teams in the league over the course of the season but to be champions you can't have a return of 0/9pts away to the top 4.
If we can beat City on Monday I think the belief of last season will come flowing back and will sent a massive statement to every other team in the league.
In 2013/14, City got 1/9 with away defeats to us and Chelsea, and an away draw to Gunners. That's pretty bad and yet they still won the title.
In 2010/11, Man Utd did the same - lost away to Arsenal and Chelsea, then drew with City away (1/9). Crowned champions with 9 points to spare.
In 2008/09. Again, Man Utd - lost away to Arsenal and Liverpool, then drew with Chelsea away (1/9). Squeaked home with 4 points ahead of Benitez and co.
So it's not just about these big away games. Last season's failure to win - and the previous season's failure to get back into Europe - all point back to the same thing: our defence needs to improve, a lot.
