TWO NEW FULL-BACKS!

I suspect/hope this will mean Johnson is shipped out. I don't rate any of our fullbacks bar Flanagan, so bringing two hopefully decent young full backs is good news. LB has been a gaping hole for a long while now.

Johnson on his day is immense but he has been way too hit and miss. Good to get his wages off the bill I guess but only if we have adequate cover. Assuming Flanno will be first choice with Kelly or Manquillo (sp?!) as back up?

After watching City game, we needed fullbacks so badly...i dont know how to express it, i ll just leave it to 'badly'.
So not surprised that immediately after City's game, we finally agreed to pay 20m up front for Moreno

I really fancy Peterson to make it, soon. There's just something about him, he seems to have the football intelligence that comes natural to a good forward. I really want to see more of him.

I think he has no chance of making it with us.

It'll be interesting to see who's right!

My countryman Peterson isn't good enough.

I agree. Has never had the technical ability to make it as a winger. He might have made a decent striker as he's got that scoring knack, but I think it's probably too late to develop him there - there'll be others coming through close behind him who he'll never be as good as like Sinclair and Canos.

Not to mention that Origi is actually the same age as him too.

I think Peterson has just this window of one year to prove himself, before Origi arrives and Sinclair and Canos are another year closer to the first team. While he isn't an outstanding winger, he has two things which IMO put him above Borini in terms of potential: good pace and decent dribbling. Let's see what football intelligence and hard work can make of him in one year.

The problem is, that day was probably more than 1.5 seasons ago. I can't really remember the last time Johnson had a game when I didn't sigh in exasperation at least once. Maybe December 2012?

As a striker, I think the strongest competitor right now in the U-21s for Peterson is Dunn. The window you talked about actually applies more to Dunn than Peterson IMO, as at 20, he really should be starting to get loan-outs or pushing for a place in cup games. I like him a lot but somehow he hasn't had the break he needed under Rodgers to demonstrate if he's good enough for us. If he still doesn't get a chance soon and do well with it, I think he'll probably end up being released. Which would be a pity, as he's someone who came through looking like a very good CM, but whose versatility meant he had had to play elsewhere to help the team, being used to plug gaps for the U18s and U21s in the past couple of years, ending up playing as a striker last season.

The thing is, I've never rated his dribbling. He does a load of stepovers etc, but he never looks that coordinated when he does it. He wouldn't get away with it against PL defenders.

surely this mo-fo has to play a big part this season !

Solid cable on his glasses... old school. Surprised he isn't rocking his usual lob on

Given the 3 munters in close proximity - it's probably shrivelled back up inside him.

Moreno looks absolutely shite from the clips available on him. Why bother?

Based on this Enrique will be first choice lb/wb this season

I am very sceptical to these two players. If CL quality Atletico would hang on to him themselves, and not loan him out for two seasons.
