I think he'd be perfect for us alongside Gerrard. I only saw his stats last season, but this season I've also seen him play a fair bit. He was very good tonight, and has been more often than not when he's played. You can see the influence he has on Southampton by how they've struggled in his absence.

He's still only 24, he's a good tackler, he's strong in the air, he's a superb athlete (which means he can gamble more going forward) and he offers more in almost every area than Lucas.

Is he on everyone's radar now? Will he be out of our price range come the summer?
