Rodgers

On a step-by-step basis, Rodgers deserves a great deal of praise for today's performance. A good team and a good effort.

Yep we're gathering a set of players who are befitting of the shirt and a manager who doesn't give a damn about price tags/reputations but rather focuses on talent.

He could have easily went with the tried and tested. Carragher instead of Coates. Downing instead of Sterling, Henderson/Adam/Spearing instead of Shelvey.

This is the first game where I really saw what he wanted to acheive. For the most part City were utterly flummoxed, and in terms of the play only had brief snatches of being able to impose themselves on the game. I was really impressed. Well done BR.

A brave, positive, refreshing approach. You can tell it is a work in progress of course, with players getting used to each other and the new regime, but he has shown enough to deserve some patience from the fans. Please let us not turn on him if we lose the next couple of games.

Yeah, for me too. We saw the future today. But it doesn't mean the future is already here. The players gave 110% effort today. It's impossible to play like that in every game. Most games we will be playing at around 80% and we will not look nearly as good. It will take some time before we can achieve this level of play with less than 100% effort, like Barca and other top teams are able to do.

You're absolutely right; It's not here yet. However, we have at least three players - Agger, Assaidi, and Sahin - to come into the team, and probably another one or two before the window closes. Then it comes down to getting into a rhythm, getting the players to know each other and then it's on like Donkey Kong.

I think the first time I really saw it was against Leverkusen. It's going to be much better in the future, though. These are really early days and revolutions take time. We're at the beginning of a cycle.

That's a really shit justification.

If you feel that way, be the bigger man and rise above it, then feel smug afterwards.

You know I call things how I see them, and I think this ain't the best side of you

Modo's a dick, Modo's a dick, Modo's a dick, Modo's a dick, Modo's a dick, Modo's a dick, Modo's a dick.

*wait's for Modo to be the bigger man*

Lol @ red mullet.

Anyway, I usually shrug it off.
In this case it's been building up, so it's not my first "spat" with this ex-mod.
My solution is simply to ignore him.
Has worked pretty well so far.

It's ok lads, we've got upstanding Mods like Herr Onceared to sort this out. No danger of lunatics running asylum here.

LOL @ Sterling.

Don't ever say "steady" to Rodgers.

This whole incident kinda explains Suso's fall from grace.

Now thats how it should be !!! - don't FUCK with the coach Sterling !!!

BR - has been really good giving youth a chance though.

He's absolutely right though - the difference between kids at this level making it and not is more often than not, attitude.

total respect for rodgers yesterday. He had some big balls picking such a attacking lineup. Even when lucas went off injured i wondered if he might bring henderson so he can sit there. But he went for the more attacking shelvey. Im not used to a liverpool manager being so bold with his team. Very refreshing and can't fault it at all. Sahin must have seen that game and thought "yeah i'm gonna like playing in this team". The passing and the pressing was first class. Yeah we've still got a long way to go, but you can see we are on the right track. Final test is when we play the weak teams home and away.

We have already beaten two weak teams away this season. One of them at home as well. WE ARE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE!

Just watched the clip. Fair play to Rodgers for laying the law down - some of those kids have probably never been spoken to like that in their whole lives before, much to their detriment. Not sure singling an individual out for praise when you're lambasting the rest is very wise though.
