Says the biggest cry baby here. I don't wanna be a mod any more....waaaaaaah

My desire to stand down as a mod is because I really couldn't be arsed dealing with morons like you any more. It really wasn't an emotional decision. .I really don't see the correlation between that and you being a massive spanking fuckwit.

All I'm saying is take a chill pill.
Roy got 1 point in his first game no?
Rodgers 0p.
Still Rodgers side by side with Shanks?
Hence....

Pep Guardiola lost his first game and look what he did. *Stays positive *Thinks about winning 3 leagues in a row *Gets excited 😉

Shakespeare tore up his first play and started again. Ergo, any budding writer with a full wastepaper basket is the next Shakespeare. Can this nonsense stop now??

Still sounds (reads) like crying to me.

Listen (read or whatever), you don't like me and I sure as hell don't like you.
So here's the plan I won't reply to any of your posts and you can do whatever, cause I don't care.

Regards

The massive fuckwit

So losing your first game is it a sign of greatness?
Maybe it was a bad example, but what I meant was that Rodgers hasn't been here long enough to start comparing him with Shanks. So far he hasn't done more result-wise than Roy.
I get that people imagine that he'll become the new Shankly, like we imagined that Kenny would bring back the Barnes/Aldo/Beardsley/McMahon/Rush days.
But after everything that's happened between Rafa leaving and Rodgers joining, isn't time for us to be a bit realistic and cautious regarding our prospects?

Like Doc Mac said, in a worst case scenario that image can really come back to bite us in the arse.

It's a daft image and completely pointless and does smack of overbearing sentimentality. It's no more silly than bemoaning the loss of a managers first league game or even gauging his performance based on anything less than 20 league games. Said before, the club and team need to wholly transform and that will not happen overnight. The general consensus on here was that people would have patience with Rodgers but the little signs of the usual wailing and gnashing of teeth are creeping in already. If we lose today you just know the hit will hit the fan as per usual.

It was just a nice picture I saw that 'promotes' hope that we're on a magical path. I'm not saying it will happen, or expecting it to tbh, it's just fun sometimes to hope for this kinda of stuff ... ya know, be a fan.

As for the rest - let's tone it down please Sunny/Modo. Cheers

But we have to be careful not to go too far the other way. Unfair attacks on players and/or the manager after a defeat is wrong, but venting one's ordinary frustrations and anger after losing is fair enough. Some are claiming others have 'set out their stall' or have an agenda just because they're not giggling contentedly like the Dalai Lama after a defeat.

What have you done!? For goodness sake LTW!

I like him more and more every time I hear him speak, learn about his philosophy - both as a football manager and a human being - and every time I hear him speak about players. He's not some daft prick like Roy Hodgson. He might not have the experience or track record of winning, but he's one of the brightest up and coming managers in the game.

I thankful we've got him.

I agree, but ultimately the judgements should be about what happens on the pitch. And Hodgson's not a 'daft prick' - he's just a mediocre manager.

Absolutely, getting excited either way is pointless at this stage. If we play poorly it's Ok to state that and the reasons why but it shouldn't be twisted into scenarios of forthcoming doom and gloom. On the reverse of that, a win won't signify the second coming of the messiah either.

I want to see improvement and consistency, that's all.

I don't think it's a bad thing to get excited ... It's not going to go away if we lose today for me at least ... I want to see what he can do over a few years - so I can be wery wery patient!

I like the way he's a grandad already in his 30s. Isn't his dad like 50 odd and he's a great grandad? I mean if everyone had behaved like that the planet would have 100 billion people on it, the sea would have risen, evolution would be so much more advanced, we'd all be submerged with Cthulhu and the rapture would be underway. I bet if he has a wank you can scan his socks for conscious life immediately.

Nothing wrong with being excited Wizzy. I'm chomping at the bit to get the game and, against all rationale, I think we're going to win. No more than a feeling in my water of course. It's just how short term wns or losses seems to influence people into a skewed long term opinion that baffles me

You could be a grandad soon....

Also I'm hearing Creamfields has flooded and will be called off. That lowers the chances of it happening this year by quite a bit.

Hahahaha. The rain last night was mental though wasn't it ? Woke me up it was that heavy

I remember the last time we played 'em at home ... I was there! 😉 I hope to see you and the others later this year - will be back (was there ever really a doubt?)

Totally agree. There's no getting away from it, when you're Liverpool manager, you're judged on results. He'll have time, I'm confident of that, and hopefully he continues buying well. That is essentially what will mark him out as a good manager.

And Hodgson's not a 'daft prick' - he's just a mediocre manager.

In your opinion, of course. In mine, he's a daft prick.

Indeed. Thing is we're having a big drug shaped party tonight in ours and I was quite happy that Scrote 2 was staying in his mates and Scrote 1 would be at Creamfields. Might be a bit of a buzzkill if him and all his mates end up in ours while we have an intergenerational gurning contest.

OFF TOPIC. BANNED

Hahaha. There's no way I could get in any state like that any more never mind in front of my lad.

I'm scared.

Anyways. Rodgers. He's probably dead good and I reckon he'll get support from pretty much everyone at the ground for a good while.
