On a different note, I think we know what our front three will look like against Chelsea.
Jota is playing really well.
Will be interesting to see how Diaz and Nunez do in the second half, but for now it's Jota - Gakpo - Salah for me.
also, when most damage is done - if robbo doesn't rush in there towards matip, but just secures behind joel, vvd doesn't have to come so far across, and might be able to cover the pass to the back post
So much for pressing from the front working out so well in the absence of Nunez, like I said last night to a certain poster, if you leave big gaping holes in midfield, you’ll get punished.
Good first half and great to see a midfield that can actually run and move their feet.
A great test for us to play against one of the better teams around when it comes to attacking the space we leave behind is. So far its showed that we still have some work to do, and that Matip isnt suited for that RCB role.
All well and good pointing the finger at Matip because both goals came down his side, but where is Trent Jones Alexi that are supposed to be around him preventing the passes into their attackers? He had a free run at Matip both times. Off the ball it’s not good enough defensively from any of them hence we need at least 1 brought in.
