Slot-ball

But not everyone rates Bajetic as highly as you. I certainly don't, and am fine with him not being part of the current squad.
Maybe, but he'd definitely be a better than McConnell.
Bajcetic walked straight into the starting line up at Las Palmas.

If Endo plays against City, we'd dominate and destroy them. Play Macca and Endo, Gravvy to come on in the 2nd half.

But Slot'll never let it happen, sadly.

What's weird is he talked about Endo's attitude during the press conference today. How other players should have the same mentality he does.
But he still doesn't give Endo any significant minutes on the pitch in important games.
Not bringing on Endo to sure up the midfield against Everton was criminal.
Look at how he did against Wolves. I thought, well at least Slot learned from his mistake.
Then he lets Endo rot on the bench again yesterday when we were under pressure.

Problem is, we were never ahead late enough in the game to shore up the defence enough to guarantee the win. Whether he thought gravy offered enough going forward, so that's why he persisted I don't know.

Add in Bradleys injury I can see why endo was never the first choice.

Personally I would have started him

It's a good point and I agree to an extent. Just not about Endo starting.

In Slot's defence, we can all point to Endo, and rightly so, but only him and Tsimikas have been fit and banging on the door for most of the season. That's 2 members in a large squad of players.

Elliott, Chiesa, Nunez, Jota, Gomez, Bradley, all been pish, unfit or injured. That's near a full bench of players that haven't been able to be depended on. Some of that is the clubs fault, some of it the players need to take accountability for, but I do whince when I see pundits losing their minds about our 'strength and depth'. It's nowhere near as strong in reality as on paper.

Still plenty of moments that Slot could have shared more minutes around, though.

Nah, I dont think there is much between them. Note that Bajcetic was sent out on loan also because of an attitude issue and with a view that it would sort him out.

McConnell could also play RB I reckon.

Meet the new manager. Same as the old manager.

Once again loads of us are screaming for certain changes. Then he doesn’t make them. Everyone guesses that players (Endo) don’t suit his philosophy. Well that’s Amorim level stupidity. Do what it takes to fucking win football matches.

Gravenberch and Virgil look shot. There’s not much we can do about Virgil despite Quansah’s recent cameos. Running Gravy into the ground isn’t on. Endo rarely lets us down and doesn’t get dominated.

Chiesa may as well fuck off to Italy on holiday. The Alps will be lovely this time of year. He’s not getting a game. Even when Gakpo is out, Jota not ready for 90 and Nunez still gets minutes.

I’m not seeing any of these tactical tweaks or more control this last month. It’s still utter fucking chaos.

The Alps are shite, believed me.

But so is Chiesa. It might fit.

Slot appears a perfectionist, and doesn’t rate some of the squadies.
But it is what it is, and He has to use what he has more. Tsimi, Endo, Elliot, Chiesa should all have taken minutes off the first eleven lately.
Poor squad management.

I’m annoyed that he speaks about Endo in press conferences but seems resentful to use him.

I don't know how people can say stuff like that with so much conviction.

There's no way of knowing if we'd have been better or worse off had we played different players.

Through observating how some of our midfield have performed over the season. Early on Mac Allister was clearly struggling with the pace. Now Gravenberch is nowhere near the levels he has shown.

Against both Villa and Everton we had Poor final 15 minutes that may have helped us out. No guarantee it would’ve done but it is fair to assume with some confidence having a fresh pair of legs on a ball winner would been a positive move.

Unless Endo gives away a free kick and it leads to a loss.

I'm not saying he would have, I just find it strange that people talk as if they know what would have happened.

We're still top with a little lead, I wouldn't tinker with anything that got us here.

... you wouldn't make subs in the last 10 minutes is what you're saying here

No, not at all. I was crying out for similar changes in games too.

What I'm saying is you can't look back now and say had we made the change we would definitely be better off.
There's every chance we could have dropped points too.

We are here now, and it's a good place to be.

It could make sense for games we lost, but even then who knows, we may have ended up with horrible injuries or suspensions.

I expect there will be a lot of squad updates this summer, after he has had a season to assess.

Then, being realistic, we really have to expect next season to be a "transition season"; hopefully much like the current "transition season" 🙂
Slot was aided by having a settled XI.
It's basically the same starters as last season with Gravy being the only change.
He'll have the same starters next season, minus Trent. Our bench won't be the same, that's for sure.
