I love Hendo, but he's not at the races today. He should be driving the team, but he looks lacklustre and everything he's touched has turned to shit. And Curtis is hiding. The midfield needs a refresh.

I don't think so. Milner is the king of professional fouls. He got away with one on Foden just outside the box and made another to make sure we went in level. He won't do anything so risky now he's on a yellow. And there's no one better on the bench.
He's not got the legs ... if he doesn't get sent off then he'll continue to get skinned time and time again and it'll cost us the match.

Wow, that half (after the initial 10 minutes) was quite a footballing lesson. We’re looking increasingly lost and confused while some of City’s passing has been just incredible - several genius-level plays in one half, I don’t recall ever seeing something like this. The positive thing is that it’s still 0:0.

What can Klopp change in the 2nd half? I think the idea with Hendo staying high up didn’t work - we need him in midfield next to Fabs and Milner (or maybe instead of Milner). I would consider bringing on Firmino for Jones and going with 4 attackers and going long as much as possible. Another idea is to bring on Keita and try to regain some control in midfield, but I’m not sure I completely trust Keita to come in into a game like this. This is a big half-time team talk.

Slight chance they will come out and try to get at us to make up for missed chances...then we pounce..1-0...then we get a pen...2-0...then Mo makes it 3-0..easy...

I haven't seen him get skinned. He's just been caught trying to nick the ball early. And he's got fuck all protection from the midfield. Foden should be getting double-teamed, but he isn't. The problems lie in midfield.

Didn't you watch the last 10 mins?

Massively missing Gini today too, he can keep hold of the ball in midfield, none of our other plays seem able to.

Are you joking? he's been getting skinned all game, and not even by a pacey winger. Foden is walking past him.

For me there's been no composure from Alisson, VVD, Henderson on the ball.

This has then put everybody else on the back foot...

Don't really blame the rest

This is also exactly the game where we miss Wijnaldum. He was elite in press resistance and transition decision making, both of which need to be spot on when playing a team like City. We've been shit in transition today.

Yep. The problem was not him getting beat one on one. It was that he was trying to make up ground from advanced positions. Either he needs to stay deeper or he needs midfielders to offer more cover when he's further up the field. Who's been helping to plug the gaps?

Foden has arse-raped many a right back in his time, including our first choice one. The problem isn't Milner - it's the complete lack of energy and support from midfield.
