Manchester City striker Erling Haaland remains a doubt for the Premier League match against Liverpool as he recovers from a knee injury, manager Pep Guardiola said Friday.

Haaland hurt his right knee late in the 4-0 win over Newcastle in the league last weekend and didn’t play in the 3-1 loss at Real Madrid on Wednesday, which eliminated City from the Champions League.

Asked about Haaland’s availability against Liverpool on Sunday, Guardiola said he was unsure and that the striker will undergo a test on Saturday.

“Maybe,” said Guardiola, who didn’t go any further.

Guardiola said center back John Stones, who came off early in the game against Madrid, might require surgery on a leg injury and will not play against Liverpool.

Unfortunately Haaland being out might not hurt them that much. Virgil's had his number every time the two have been in direct opposition. I actually suspect Marmoush might be more of a handful.

He didn’t say that. He praised Haaland.

On another note. Slot gave the players two full days off after the Villa game. Training today and game tomorrow. That’s why his presser was moved forward.

Hopefully a good call and we’ll see a fresh team ready to fight and get the 3 points.

After that Arsenal result the players should come out absolutely bouncing tomorrow. They'll know that it's a chance to put a nail in that coffin.
And Wednesday could be the final one.

We should go all out tomorrow and put everything into it but I don't think Arne will want that.

This is the time to really distance ourselves and put anymore talking point to bed.

Just please any sort of win tomorrow. Someone contact the voodoo priestess Moyes has been using.

Even a draw after arsenals result today is great. Big lift for the lads and takes a lot of pressure off. Having said that, there’s absolutely no pressure on city at all. Only question is how they bounce back after the battering by Madrid

Fuck a draw, had enough of that shit. Rather lose going out all guns blazing than playing all that half arsed shit.

Need to stop thinking we're in a place of security, go for the kill and put some distance between ourselves.

The big positive even a defeat doesn’t mean the world is caving in.

In all likelihood at the moment we could be 11pts clear on Weds night even if City beat us.

Woke up buzzing for this one. In a way we can play with no fear here, but we need to punish this wounded beast.

If Darwin is playing then i pray he gets chances and can put the Villa miss behind him.

LFG.

Imagine someone told you in Oct when City were top that we’d be going to City 17pts ahead of them.

In the games recently where City have looked ok, it’s been the first half mostly.

If we can get to half time at 0-0 I think we’ll run over them second half.

Really hope we turn up. This Match could be a real Tinder box as to how we go through the rest of the season. Win today I think we'll be able to Grindr a lot of results out, rather than just Bumbleing along dropping points like idiots

Any news on Gakpo? I thought I'd dreamt he was starting but then remembered it was just Momo's forecasted team.

Any recommendations on a decent place to watch the game in Liverpool today?

I'm in around Albert Dock with not a lot to do until a flight at 8 this evening. No desire to drink or travel too far.
