Pre Match Pre Match - Villa (A) - Weds 19:30

He's just so fucking useless. You gotta blame Slot for even having him on the bench. I doubt anyone else in the squad would have missed that chance. It's got to the point where I want to turn the TV off when I see him warming up, it's embarrassing.

Szob wins and loses possession in equal measure. If it's a net equal then it's pointless. If he offered goals or assists then I could happily overlook, but he doesn't. He doesn't even offer pre-assists.

I'd probably start him against city annoyingly though. He runs, so limits passing lanes.
I'd rather bring him on against City in the last half hour or so, when his pressing will be amplified by their fatigue. They haven't had the legs to run the full 90 this season. Don't forget Endo ran the midfield last season in the 1-1.

It was an improved display... It would be hard for it not to be, but we did actually create chances.

Compared to Wolves? Well, yes. I mean, fucking hell. Come on.

Compared to Everton and Newcastle and Utd? Nah.

We know Villa like an open game so we played them at it and sure it was more entertaining......but they still had 5-6 first team players out and we still fucked it.

Wolves and now Villa where we've had less than 50% possession with 3 shots on target, it's shit. Our heading is shit, our shooting is shit, our defending is shit and our midfielders are showing cracks of shitness.

The last 15 minutes in each of our last three games has been pitiful. Put in decent ones and we have 9 instead of 5 points.

Shortcomings coming alive

- Full back problems
- Defensive leakiness
- Wastefulness in front of goal (cost us last year too)

the highlights made it look like Villa should have won.

5 points clear and we are playing mental midgetry again. A likely draw v City, means 3 points clear.

It's looking like the lack of investment in the squad may hurt another title run.

With all the doom and gloom let’s not forget Trent’s goal - that was a great strike and a great moment. And helped us get a draw in the end - imagine the mood on here if we’d lost!

I'm a big believer in the glass being half full. And I think it still is. But it is also rapidly draining. But if we want to win this league, we have to start getting wins like these. Now we kind of have to beat City this weekend, and we are watching to see how Arsenal are doing.

We are showing mental midgetry.

It was a disappointing result, but a fair one. It puts pressure on us to take at least four points from City and Newcastle—otherwise, things get legitimately tense.

This wasn’t about burnout or exhaustion. The main issues were poor decision-making in attack, sloppy finishing, and spells of unbothered, casual defending down the flanks.

On the bright side, City were hammered and have a trip back from Spain to contend with. Díaz was rested, and Jota’s finishing looked sharper as the game went on.

I hate the term, but we really do need a statement performance and a big win soon.
