Pre Match Pre Match - Everton (A) - Weds 19:30

I’m sure there is an appeal period. I think he will have to be charged, then have the appeal period. I would bet on him missing City and Newcastle.
He was sent off for what he said to Micunt Olicunt. It will be his word against his, no hope of a successful appeal

Even Slobby chops Rio called it a foul as did McCoist. Both of those were gobbling off Everton all fucking game and even they thought it was a foul. Every cunt and their dog could see it was a foul. They’ll hide behind “clear and obvious” bullshit.

At this point "clear and obvious" is effectively the same as "so blatant the ref would never miss it in the first place".

So what's the point of it anymore? They've fucked it up from day one.

Spend 5 hours debating over which pixel is offside, yet glance past glaring fouls

It's a fucking shambles. I've always been in favour of VAR, providing it was used effectively. It's not. The quality of referees in this country is fucking scandalous

At the end of the day, a draw away to the shite is a decent result, as it's always been iffy for us. It's the manner of the draw that's infuriating.

Hopefully (as others have said) we have a siege mentality and a few players raise their level

Arne Slot is not allowed back onto the pitch for a post match interview after his red card.l so here are some quotes from Virgil.

Virgil van Dijk: “Intense. It was always gonna be intense. A lot of battles. It was very disappointing to lose it in the last second or over extra time. It is not easy to accept it, especially in the manner how.”

“We all know this is their cup final. They will make it as difficult as possible for us.”

“You saw they celebrated the goal, they have every right to. Doucoure wanted to provoke our fans. Curtis didn't think it was the right thing to do. The red didn't have the game under control. I said it to him.”

“I think the referee had a big part in the game today. Certain fouls were given as a foul, others didn't.”

“Very tough. To concede an equaliser that late is always disappointing. We saw the celebrations they had in the end so we know how much it meant for them but the fact is it was disappointing for us. We take the point and move onto Wolves now.”

Virgil van Dijk the clash of players at the end: “It was a very big provocation from one certain player. We all saw it and reacted as a team as we were able to do. You know what happens nowadays, it becomes one big tussle. Then it is not me who has to deal with it, it is the referee and today I am not sure he had it fully under control.”

Virgil van Dijk on the title fight: “We have put ourselves in a solid position. We all know we have so many difficult games coming up. We need everyone at their best.”

“Everyone should be disappointed on the last part of this game but from tomorrow the focus will be on recovery.”

Yeah I used to think they can get it to work but they can't. They're fucking morons.

Love it Virgil.

Strange game from him, had some awful moments but also some brilliant moments, same as Konate.

Any ideas why Gravvy was subbed early? Doesn’t seem like something Slot would normally do…

It's been mentioned by someone else probably but the Diaz up front thing has to surely end now.
It gave us nothing in this game. It hasn't given us anything for a while it seems.

If we’re not going to start Jota consistently in this crucial run of games, then what’s the point of having him around? He has to play at CF now and Gakpo and Diaz would benefit from competition at LW.

I think they've decided he can't play more than 20 min a week or he'll break.

I'll be surprised if Darwin isn't first choice now though

Ok point on paper given circumstances and performance but tough one to take with the way the goal played out, and the way the game was refereed.

We looked a different team in this once Curtis was on and Diaz was wide. The goal came from Diaz beating a man, which we rarely did.

Beyond repeating everything that has been said, I’m still pissed at Jota in injury time making a great run into the box past players but not managing to pass or get a shot off. He was playing like we’d already won which was naive.

Yeah, in hindsight its okay with a point. I said to my mates before the game that a draw in the last Goodison derby would be alright and be 7 points clear.
But, the circumstances are still pissing me off. Oliver was just horrendous from start to finish and just like the Doku foul on Macca at Anfield we seem to be on the wrong side of every big call he makes.
This wasn't a game were the result is that we made 20 fouls to Everton's 9. The foul on Salah still sees my blood boiling. There was a foul on Konate but in the end that is probably to soft to get overturned, but he obviously clears that ball if Beto doesn't clatters him. Everton got those type of free kicks all game.
The added injury time is another issue as well.

This is the second game were I've thought Slot should have just subbed on Endo and not Jota for Diaz and made us more solid at the back. I get that he probably didnt want to change systems, but it doesnt hurt to go more defensive at the end.

But, it was okay to feel those dropped 2 points last night. Today we look forward and have got a league to win.

You missed out the two players who received treatment in injury time didn’t leave the field.

The problem is our players thought it was over in the end and just started hoofing it and giving possession back to Everton.
I also wonder why Slot didn't consider brining on Endo or Quansah.

If, in fact, Slots red card was for the handshake we should just appeal and send them the video of Pep doing the same to Oliver and not getting anything.

Pep was sarcastically saying "thank you very much". If slot said similar I agree. I can see slot saying "you're a fucking cheat" however
