Pre Match Pre Match - Everton (A) - Weds 19:30

Same Michael Oliver who didn't give the Doku kung-fu kick in Mac Allister's chest, or T-Rex hands taking out Virgil for a season. Only team he never screws over is city.
So nothing to do with his trips to the Middle East then.

Offside was always meant to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacker; I don't think I can get angry over 5cm tolerance
I wouldn't get angry if it was consistent. But its not. Many times that would have been given offside.

The tolerance level is due to the fps (and how much movement a human can physically make in between frames) so that is fair enough. Of course the movement could be from an offside position back onside in that time but I'd say that is a rare occurrence and normally it's the attacker starting his forward run.

I don't think so - the tweet seems to imply that tolerance is built into the system that does the lines, not that it is the discretion of the VAR; if correct that means it woudl be consistent

Cant wait for the semi automated offside system to be implemented. Then we dont have to rely on these cunts to draw a line. Something they look unable to do.

I think this is also a fair point - we have a tolerance level because its a referee drawing the lines. Why can't it be some set of PhD students who have a hyper ability to put the lines in the right place.

As per Liverpool Echo, a two-word comment by Slot towards Oliver is understood to have prompted the 39-year-old to reach for his pocket and pull out the red card.

According to expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman, the Dutchman told the 39-year-old that he had a ‘great game’, a remark that the referee seemed to interpret as sarcasm – hence the punishment he doled out to the Reds’ head coach, who replied “Sure, you give me a red for that?… I will check it out for later…me and you, yeah?”.

At that point, Virgil van Dijk stepped in and spoke to the official, with the apparent belief that Slot’s vigorous handshake triggered the red card, rather than his appraisal of Oliver’s performance.

The Liverpool captain is alleged to have said: “Hey, Michael…that was not a pull [of your arm]… Michael… it isn’t personal”, before then pleading with his boss to ‘keep away’ from the situation.

He should have said "I"m Pep - where's the love?"
