Fantasist - is that what the bookies, OPTA etc, are now? They don't base the outcome on statistical analysis? I guess they want to lose money.

Better than being a miserable pessimist who can't enjoy the season because they are paranoid we're going to fold.
I am enjoying the season, I've also been here a million times, collapse after collapse, what bit aren't you getting? OPTA fucking says.

What bit aren't YOU getting? We are still heavy favourites for title. Though you'd never believe it reading half the posts on here.

I think the Gravy to Endo sub happens in the second half if we take the lead. Seeing as we were chasing a goal Slot didnt sub him.

We are 6-4 in our last 10. Worse if you include the cups. There's nothing particularly statistically rigorous about projecting a line when you are looking at a curve.
Arse are 7-4 in their last 11 in the PL (EXACTLY the same as us). They went out to United in the FAC and lost twice to Newcastle in the LC.

It's fine to talk about our form but we're not in a bubble. All we have to do is match them (or even be just a little bit worse).

And you're including 2 defeats by our shadow squad not the first team. Why bother?

The miss by Jota was far worse... No defender to put him off. Way off target, And he is ment to be a clincal finisher. Nunez often fluffs his line so it is disaponting to see him miss the target, but not surpising
But Jota..?
He should be getting as muck flake if not more than Nunez

In all honesty it just feels like some one here are waiting for a collapse so that they can say "I told you so".
A large part of posters on this forum have for some reason a real difficulty acknowledging the team, Slot and the fantastic season we're having so far.
Its doing my head in, and football in general and watching us play is actually much more enjoyable if you stay away from the negativity on here.

Totally agree. I get that we've been here before but it wasn't this team, this manager or this medical team.

And more importantly this Arsenal team isn't THAT City team.

I avoid this forum during games - much more enjoyable.

Doesn't stop the finger pointing after the game : see see see we dropped points!

You think I want the team to lose?

We are playing well. I don't think we are much better or worse than last year. I want to win the league. I don't care about anything else. It's our best chance in ages.

I don't know what you want. I think we're better than last year and I think Slot deserves massive praise for the way he has come in and led the team forward. Its quite remarkable to be where we are in his first year.

Will it be enough to win it in the end? Not sure, but I certainly won't be going "I told you so" and "we've been here before" if the team fails.
If we don't win, then we go again next season.

Ok, I'm a fucking wreck about this season and I'm hating how we are faltering at this moment. Doesn't mean I'm going to rejoice if we don't get it over the line.

I hadn't realised until this morning that we were the only team at risk of getting tired and that Arsenal were completely immune from any such risk and therefore guaranteed to win all their games with an injury-weakened team.
Obviously they were just toying with us last weekend against (checks notes) fucking shit Leicester. They could have won that game 6-0 if they'd wanted to. They didn't play shit against a shit team for most of the game, it was all just an act (presumably to conserve energy).
They're feeling it too. At the weekend they got lucky.
We played well enough to win last night, we didn't finish our chances. Villa got lucky.
Shit happens.

Yesterday was an improvement. But shit is happening more frequently, is all. I am certainly pessimistic at the moment, but recognizing that our performances have been worse isn't pessimism.

I don't enjoy the pious attitude of "well we're top of the league and I'm enjoying it, so I'm a better fan. Clearly others want us to lose"

No one wants us to fucking lose.

We're playing 2 or 3 levels below our ability the last 3 or 4 weeks and I should be elated? I should be praising slot for putting players out there dead on their feet? Players so low on confidence that they're scared to shoot? Or so low they're wildly erratic? Should I be thrilled hardworking professionals are actively being ignored by slot?

I can be happy we're top of the league but fucking livid that we're trying to throw it away at the same time

This isn't difficult to understand.

They were shit against Leicester, but they were also nowhere near conceding a goal.
We on the other hand decide to start games but setting the treadmill on a 60 degree incline.

Start of the game yesterday I was actually thrilled to see a change in intensity from us and we dominated the first 10. I thought we'd turned a corner.

No, we reverted not long after that. Then we were gifted a goal. Then it got worse until we were conceded a 2nd.

Yeah, but Leicester had an 85 year-old Jamie Vardy up front and have only scored 25 goals all season, ahead of only Ipswich and Southampton.
