Great idea Fox.

Let's not stop there, 'magine the other money-spinning possibilities there are out there;

How much would the Shankly Gates get on ebay?
Rafa on 'Celebrity Fit Club'?
Or alternatively, we could pawn your body off for medical research?

might make more on the street. Have you SEEN his avatar?! He's got great tits

Masher is my favourite player and I do not want to see him go.

However if he wants to go its a different story.

If and its a possibiltiy now that we don't make the top 4 someone will have to go to balance the books.

And if the choices are Masher Gerrard Torres or Reina I would sell Masher and change formation.

No player is bigger than the club. It would mean moving Gerrard back into the middle and buying another striker.

We are skint, he has a good value and reputation abroad.

If we can get £25-30 million for Masher I will take it. I have always said he is overated, a player of his talents should not cost that much, he contributes nothing going forward and the job he does very well can be achieved with a much cheaper player.

We need attacking players, more goals in tight games and he is hardly protecting the back four this year is he.

Lets spend the money on two attacking quality players and Lucas/Aqua can partner Stevie in the middle.

If Torres gets injured again then Stevie can move forward for those games.

We do not have enough money to just buy talent and Masher is an expensive asset we can afford to lose but we cannot afford not to buy more attacking/creative talent in January

You are a fucking nugget!!!!!

In all fairness Fox, you really don't help yourself at times. You need a thread posting Green Cross Code.

STOP ! THINK ! DON'T POST BOLLOCKS !

It's simple, Masher is one of our best players. You don't sell one of your best player.
Haven't read the whole thread but i'm sure the majority have already said that.

As Ryan said we sold Alonso.

I think it will come down to whether or not Masher wants to go.

And what exactly is wrong with the above?

Did it need a Hilter gif?

I'd have happily took top whack for Masch instead of Alonso, we could have picked up someone cheaper without missing a beat.
But selling Masch now leaving us with Aqua, Lucas, Spearing and someone else to come in sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Irrespective of opinions, I reckon Masch will be off the summer anyway.

you need to read the whole thread to appreciate the point, ideal world improve on squad by keeping masher and buying attacking talent.

but.... we have no cash and if someone has to go as DB says it should be masher, he has a good value and can be replaced.

Our issue is scoring goals in tight games, we are shedding loads of goals anyway with Masher.

Two attacking quality players who provide assists, creativity and GOALS for Masher = Good Deal for the Club in its current financial plight

Fox, you have to look to the future here.
Selling a world class star to buy two averages attackers is not the way forward.
Mascher is the type of guy you build your team around, a player you can rely on in the biggest of games, you need guys like that is the squad & dressing room.

I see where you are coming from with regard to him being one of the the most saleable assets we have, every fan would rather see him sold than Torres or Gerrard. But losing a world class midfielder in the summer and then another in Jan would be devastating for our club. It would be very, very hard to recover from it and would push us one step closer to mid-table numbness as opposed to making us champions.

its a good point Stu, I am assuming that Masher wants to leave so long term LFC would not be possible anyway.

Long term is great but I am worried about the short term, our finances will be fucked if we miss the CL for a year or two

And I was not expecting to replace Masher with two average players, the money could get two very good creative players

to be fair he's a starter for Real Madrid.

If we sold Masher and bought Diarra, the difference in price would be a bag of chips.

Although I'd prefer a bag of chips to Lucas, so maybe we should look at it.

ha ha but would a bag of chip be able to get forwards and score? 😉

If a beachball can....

heh heh. lucas should hang his head in shame that a beachball has more goals than he does with far less time on the pitch.

This is what I meant Spider.
I am not saying Diarra is average, he isn't even an attacker!

haha, I was hoping for my cunning plan to work to get diarra for £15 million, sell Masher for £25 million

Add in Babel to Ajaz for £8 million and Voronin sold to someone for a bag of chips and Rafa can have diarra who does not want to leave and one £18-20 million top attacking man or two really good ones

sounds easy

If there was going to be a £10m profit to be had, that could be invested in another player, I'd do it.

But I very much doubt there is.
