Yes, we'd be six points from third, an uphill battle no doubt, but we're definitely in the race if we win today and the other results go our way.
We can definitely get back in the race for fourth easily enough, but I expect Utd to really kick into gear second half of this season, van Gaal has been hammering them physically on the training pitch so their stamina will improve dramatically & they have no European footy, so it's gonna be a helluva battle.
The first peno was a very bad call - and we've been outplayed far too much for my liking, but up 2-0 and if we hold this, within 6 points of 3rd.

Can looks poor and not concentrated – if I were Rodgers I would ask him at half time what happened, did you not get enough sleep, son?
Toure and Sakho – OK.
Moreno has been one of our better players in the first half, although defensive issues remain.
Gerrard is too static, like others have said, especially compared to how Henderson was playing a fortnight ago. And if the pitch is too slick for the hollywood balls – DON'T PLAY THEM.
Coutinho is god. What a player.
1st pen wasn't anywhere near a pen, 2nd one for completely deserved – the defender stuck his hand out to intercept the pass from Coutinho to Moreno. 100% pen.

It's new years day, the pitch is shite, it's lashing down, & we're playing the type of side we often get beaten by when we shouldn't do so, so I'll take any kind of win thankfully.

They're playing terrible, and have done for the majority of the season. I'm hoping when they get a run of tough games they'll drop a stack of points.
