Leicester (H)

Leicester seemed to start the year really positively, but I haven't seen them play for months.

What are they like?

Let's get on a good positive winning streak - team is in a good place now. This game is key for this to continue and maintain pressure on Manure, Spurs, Arsenal etc ...

Their young right winger is a danger too. He's a real prospect, I just can't remember his name!

Will Ming be able to kick the ball with this wind. Can see a few of his clearances going backwards today.

Confirmed team:

Mignolet – Emre Can, Touré, Sakho – Henderson, Gerrard, Lucas, Moreno – Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard returns to the starting XI as Brendan Rodgers makes two changes to his team for the visit of Leicester City this afternoon.

The No.8 sat out Monday's victory over Swansea City but is brought back here, replacing Javier Manquillo in the line-up at Anfield.
Elsewhere, Kolo Toure is named in defence with Martin Skrtel suspended for the 3pm GMT Barclays Premier League contest.
Academy forward Sheyi Ojo is again featured among the substitutes, as is Dejan Lovren following an injury lay-off.

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Can, Toure, Sakho, Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Moreno, Coutinho, Lallana, Sterling.

Substitutes: Ward, Lovren, Lambert, Manquillo, Borini, Markovic, Ojo.

Harsh on Manquillo and also harsh on Hendo - being shoehorned into the team just so that Brodge doesn't have to be the guy to drop Stevie.

These are the types of games that Markovic should be playing.
Suppose it's hard to drop Moreno after the Swansea game though.

I'd rather Gerrard was put in than Mario though I have to say.. Telling that he's not on the bench - maybe something to do with his alleged tantrum at FT against Swansea?

Why doesn't he try to build momentum? What's makes him think we can afford this. Obviously chances are that we will win but this was a great opportunity to give Hendo and Lucas a chance to build and grow for the future.

instead we get the painful experience of watching two shoehorned midfielders.
