Injuries ... and it begins?

Based on Klopps comments it seemed like Thiago was more of a precautionary move. He felt a bit of tightness and came off pretty much straight away.

He was never going to play the Norwich game and if he skips Brentford them Jones or Keita will have to step in. I wouldn't rule him out of the City game just yet

Don't want to be negative but I'm not expecting good news. Klopp is putting a good spin on it, but I'm expecting him to be out for 2-3 weeks.
Even minor calf injuries take about 1-3 weeks of recovery and rehab.
He’s crucial for me. He was so good on Sat

Fingers and toes crossed.

Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders has confirmed that midfielder Thiago Alcantara will miss the club’s next two matches through injury.

Thiago has been praised for how he has got to grips with the Premier League so far this season, but picked up an injury in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The midfielder suffered a calf issue during the Premier League clash and the club are waiting for the results of his scan to determine the severity of the niggle.

The Reds though have seen enough to know Thiago will miss their EFL Cup tie against Norwich City and Premier League meeting with Brentford next weekend.

“Thiago, how the gaffer said after the game, it was a calf injury”, Lijnders told the club’s official site.

“I can’t say now how long it will take but definitely not tomorrow and not at the weekend.

“Let’s get the scan results back and we have a proper diagnosis.

“A shame as well because he was taking the game by the hand, he was a proper playmaker in my opinion. A shame that we miss him.”

A stupid decision not to replace Gini over the summer, 5 league games in and as expected we are already down to bare bones.
Oh wait, when has this happened before? Last season with defense. Just hope it won’t cost us like last time.

After this tweet, I think it's fair to tell Kieta, if he has the same view, to fuck off! I have applauded Kieta when he has played well, but I will be happier when he and Ox are gone.
Kieta's agent after Chelsea game;

Malick Kebe

@MalickKebe8

It’s really hard for me to understand Klopp, you have to be him to put Naby Keita on the bench right now in his form. Your super coach is solely responsible for this draw against Chelsea

If Fabs & Hendo are on top form we can get through without Thiago, but it is a big loss for the City game.

Could be worse, we could be Everton.

What's the latest on Trent, Thiago and Keita? Really don't want to see Sarr running at Milner this weekend after his horror show against City

Trent will be in the squad, but not clear if he will start or not. Keita is OK. Thiago posted a photo of himself doing some weight work indoors which makes me think he’s still some way off.

Klopp :

Milner : Hamstring

Keita : Full throttle on his shin but he looks OK in the changing room. However the extent of the injury often doesn't show itself for a couple of days so we'll have to wait and see.

We play Preston midweek, so we can rest most of the squad. The midfield is going to be a bit thin but hopefully we can have Fabs and Thiago back for the weekend.

Klopp said Thiago is unlikely until after the international break. He is the last player you want to rush back, perhaps except Keita and Matip.

Klopp about Thiago:

"Thiago, not. He has not been in team training yet. He will not be this week, for sure.

"He is running, meanwhile, so that's a good sign. We have two weeks until the international break, so (Thiago will be back) maybe before but for sure after the international break.

"That's what we expect, but we will see."
