Seriously speaking, tonights game will be vital for Rodgers. A loss and his position will be under serious threat.
He will be safe if he wins the FA Cup, CL or not.
I like Favre but im not sure of his game is suited to england, plus the fact im not sure he speaks english.
I think tonight is very important for him too ... A win would be nice to give the lads some confidence but I'm not very confident.

I don't think tonight's game will decide Rodgers' fate. It'll be taken into account, but FSG have invested (in every sense) a lot in his appointment and he's not going to be let go (or kept on) just on the basis of one match. The one reason why I could see them cutting him loose would be if we now have a poor run of results in the league and end up miles away from 4th. Unless that happens he'll be safe for next season IMO, though he might then be told that he has to get 4th place at least or it's curtains.
I'm more inclined to give Rodgers more time than I am not. The trouble with him is that he appears so in love with himself that you wonder whether his ego is getting / will get in the way of him succeeding.
De Boer would have to be a front runner if Rodgers goes and it appears that he'd be more welcoming of an approach than he perhaps was a couple seasons ago.

FSG could also be concerned about Rodgers record in Europe with LFC which is pretty hopless, especially this season.
If you look at how he's managed the selling and replacement of Suarez, how we performed in the CL and the Europa, how abject we looked before he went to three at the back, and how we failed so dismally once we finally got on the coat tails of our top four rivals then you have to say tonight's game is very important. A trip to Wembley then a return for the FA cup final will mean nowt if we don't win it. and the way Arsenal are going and the way we are I can't see us winning that. But then again I can't see us winning tonight either.
You have to replace him with better if FSG decide to part ways. Who is there that's proven? Simone? Benitez? De Boer? Another three years of building and more money spent of players we hope become the next Torres, Alonso, or Suarez.

Yep. And let's not forget that he's not just changed the first team squad, he's also been responsible for bringing in a completely new set of coaches from the reserves all the way down to the youngest age groups in the academy, all coaching in accordance with the same plan, so the expense and disruption should FSG bring in another manager who might want to tear all of that up again and start anew would be massive.
People mention Rodgers' record in Europe, so in (some) fairness, we should look at de Boer's as well:
He has never made it past the group stages in the CL in 5 tries with Ajax, and never past the Europa League Round of 16 in the same number of attempts as well (actually bounced in the round of 32 three times). Now, I know Ajax doesn't work on the same budget as us, and as some of their competitors in Europe, and they've had some nasty luck in some seasons with the CL group draw. However, they've also had some decent luck with the draw a couple of times too (Milan last season, Lyon in 2011/2012 - Lyon got eliminated by APOEL in the first knockout round after that). In the Europa League, they've gone out against the likes of Dnipro, Steau Bucharest, Red Bull Salzburg, etc.

Before he took over in Dec 2010, the last time Ajax won a title was in 2003/04. Went on to win 4 consecutive titles. Won't be 5 in a row this season but players he has lost during his reign included the likes of Suarez, Eriksen, Alderweireld, van der Wiel, Vertonghen, de Jong and Blind. The budget with which he has to work with has also been very modest, to say the least. Sinkgraven is his most expensive signing (joined this Jan) for €7m.
One of the things that puts me off Rodgers is his propensity to speak nonsense. The David Brent comparisons is his first season were embarrassing at times but he hasn't been quite that bad quite as often since then. Still comes out with some management talk bollocks though.
Hodgson was even worse though. Nothing Hodgson said whilst Liverpool manager (or anyone else ) ever made sense and it was always like he'd just watched a completely different game to me.
