Depending on your opinion of him he's either getting the boot at the end of the season, or possibly replacing Pelligrini at City.

So if he does go, how will we move on?

Who is the next pretender to the throne?

Let's just take it that Klopp, Benitez and the Athletico manager are not runners.

Who are we looking at?

Rodgers is going? I've been avoiding the forum the last few days, what have I missed?

Frank De Boer.

Unless Barca have a collapse in the next 8 games and lose the La Liga and crash out of the CL.

Get the chequebook out and go knocking on Southampton's door again.

*edit*
You didn't say pep was a non-runner so I'll go for pep. Just to fit in with the numpties demanding Reus.

Frank de Boer.

Didnt he sign a new contract a few months back? And stated he wouldnt be leaving for a while.

I dont think Rodgers will get the sack neither do I think City will go for him.
Can see City going for Ancelotti fwiw.

IF Rodgers does go, De Boer is a good shout.
Other than that I really like Rudi Garcia. Clear philosophy and has together with Walter Sabatini built something really good at Roma.

Sabatini has a great track record and could be a very good match. Maybe going for Garcia and Sabatini could be the way forward if Rodgers does leave.

Director of football at Roma

In the summer of 2011, Walter Sabatini was hired by James Pallotta to replace Daniele Prade as Sporting Director.. Over the course of 3 years, he rebuilt Roma, and has nearly removed all the below-average players with high wages from the Sensi era. He has also succeeding in signing Erik Lamela and Marquinhos, and sold them for massive profit in 2013. He then used the money to buy Kevin Strootman, Gervinho, Morgan De Sanctis, Radja Nainggolan and Mehdi Benatia. A year later, all 5 signings played brilliant seasons, though the latter was unceremoniously sold for double the amount he was bought for.
With those extra funds, he managed to buy 3 additional centerbacks, and was able to snatch Juventus's main target for the window, Juan Iturbe. He was awarded the best director of football award for the 2013–14 season. He is normally known for signing short term deals, but for the first time he agreed upon a three-year extension in 2014.

That being said.. I don't see how Rodgers at City would work..

His strength is with young players and nurturing young talent.. his weakness is arguably signing players..

So at City, he would be on a hiding to nothing...

And they want a manager who can win in Europe. Rodgers hasn't exactly sparkled in the European competitions.

Klopp probably would come to us. Him or De Boer.

FSG may go for home-based again and I will kop for some flak for this but Steve McLaren could be an inspired choice. Or alternatively could bomb.

I'm OK with Rodgers though, he has to be given another year to put his team together.

Van gaal and De Boer didn't want to manage us so getting Simeone or Klopp is pie in the sky stuff.
It's just going to become a merry go round with the next manager anyway.
A few bad games and people will want him sacked so it's basically irrelevant who we get.

Steve Mclaren...

What have we become..

I thought Owen Coyle was bad..

Any takers on Lucien Favre?

If we are going the Bundesliga route, then I think Thomas Tuchel will be more appealing to FSG than Lucien Favre.

Young, Tactically very good, has done wonders for Mainz on a restricted budget, considered the next Klopp.
