Yeah, was going to say this. I don't think I've ever seen Anfield with drainage problems. And it isn't the driest part of the world.

TBF.. Even the best drainage would not hold back the rain we have been seeing here for the last few hours... Its settled a little now but if it carries on throughout the course of the day it would cause a waterlogged pitch..

Well, as some have been saying, it wouldn't do us any harm. The commentary in the Swansea game has been saying they've had the worst rain the commentators have seen in that area in their lives before the game, and yet the pitch looks good.

I've seen them play after worse than this mate.

The pitch is only a couple of inches of very sandy soil, it's over a third artificial & underneath is all sand. That's why (for anyone old enough to have jumped on to the pitch as a kid to shake a player hand or pass them a ball back) it's so bloody hard!

I only know this cos a mate of a mate we sometimes used to drink with is a groundsman at Anfield (despite being the most bitter of blues) & they paid for him to get a degree in grass. I think it's called something else, but it's basically a degree in grass.

I don't mind that too much if I'm honest, should be more than enough to beat Hull, you'd hope.

Aspas or Alberto have got to play today, surely. Otherwise, what was the point?
Just hope Alberto makes an appearance

I know when he arrived his fitness level was meant to be shocking, but ffs, he's been here months now

Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Cissokho, Lucas, Hendo, Coutinho, Aspas, Sterling, Suarez

Substitutes: Jones, Rossiter, Kelly, Toure, Moses, Alberto, Gerrard.

Yeah mate, at least one of them is making an appearance. I hope he turns up today, Johnson has got a massive reprieve there too.
I think Alberto will come on today

It's PERFECT time for him to start racking up minutes

They walloped fulham in last game, so hopefully they come with confidence to play football rather put 10 men behind the ball. which will play into our hands
