How will we set up against Palace ?

We don't need to take Bayern's players - especially their outcasts. We need to copy their system and style - especially the way they now play under Guardiola. I'm happy to know Brendan and Stevie watching that game; I'm sure they will find lots of inspiration and lessons in the way this Bayern team play.

This is the standard we should be aiming for and measuring our progress against. We can find our own David Alaba's and Boatengs and Mullers; there are lots of supremely talented young players in the world. What is in short supply are people and clubs with enough vision and patience to put those young talented players into the kind of system where they can succeed - and create an environment where they MUST succeed - or be quickly replaced by others who are hungry for success. Bayern is one such club and we should be too.

I'm not going to lie, I'm very happy that the moneybags from Manchester (and Dubai) got taught a footballing lesson. For all their spending they are not any closer to Bayern's or Barca's level that they were 3 or 4 years ago.

How does this guy know Sterling will play at RWB? Methinks it's a tad more likely that we will line up as 4-4-2 (or you can call it 4-2-3-1 - there is almost no difference at this point) with Toure at RB and Sterling at RW. Lots of "grit and steel" in this lineup.

That's what I was thinking reading that lineup..

----------------Mignoet----------------
Toure---Skrtel---Sakho---Enrique
---------Hendo---Gerrard-----------
Sterling-----Suarez--------Moses
------------Sturridge-----------------

I'm guessing its just bacause we've played 3-5-2 for the last 2 games.
It could very easily be a 4-2-3-1/4-4-2. It probably is aswell

People really have short memories. Just a couple of weeks ago nobody believed we would ever switch to 3-5-2 (even though we played this system under Rodgers last season), now people can't imagine switching back. I believe in 3-4-1-2, but for Palace at home we really should not need 3 CBs.

Spot on. As Ryan have said countless of times aswell, our tactics and team selection will differ from what team we play, injuries, form, home or away.

3 centre backs seem an overkill, but then again you could say that we'll be playing with 3 defenders instead of 4 against an opposition that is much weaker. I can imagine Enrique and Sterling in the final third the moment we're on the attack.

So I come to the UK to realise that it's much more difficult to watch games here than back home?!

Why the fuck aren't 3 pm games televised?

It's great in oz we get every game live regardless of ko time.

I just brought in Suarez and made him captain in ff so partnering Sturridge means 0-0

I hope Sterling isn't a wing back as he's pretty shit going forward, let alone defending. I'd rather a 4231 if he's in the lineup which means playing Toure RB :s

Very good team imho. I expect a win and hope we learned a lesson or two from the Soton game

As long as we win we could play a defensive-minded 8-0-1-0-1 formation with at least three false 9s and a fony sweeper.

Today at least. Keep the points coming is all and lets worry about the play and players and formation another day.

We are at the almost very top of the league.

Cooome on you reeeds!!!
