OK, maybe it's a bit premature to anoint him the next Frank Lampard – but it's starting to look this way, 4 goals from midfield in his last 2 games. Another of Klopp's disciples now making our rivals stronger...

don't think he'll ever be that same threat from outside the box - but he makes really smart runs late into the box constantly and he's finally healthy.

I thought those late runs into the box were kind of the defining feature of Lampard's game? He didn't score nearly as many long-range screamers like Gerrard, if my memory serves me right, but was as clinical as any striker from inside the box.

Also a steal at £5.6M in Fantasy Football 🙂

Yeah, thats a great fee. I've got Coutinho, Mane, Hazard and Walcott in midfield though.
My team is pretty good but struggeling for a defender around 5-5,5 mill and striker around 7,1-7,6 mill. Currently its Clyne and Deeney.

Matip, Lovren, Stones, Vertonghen, even better Marcos Alonso or Walker (if you can afford one of those). Defoe, Austin or Rondon for mid-level strikers, I think. But my team is mid-table, so don't take my advice too seriously.

Sorry, @cloggypop

Yeah, thinking about Matip. Considering Austin, Rondon or Bony.

Gundogan was heavily linked to United about 3 seasons ago which hugely irritated me because I thought he was brilliant. Thankfully he picked up a bad injury (cruciate I think) and United went cool on the deal. I wasn't sure about City signing him because he's now had 2 major injuries in 3 seasons and wondered whether it would affect him. He seems to be well over those injuries and City have some player on their hands...............at least the Scum didn't get him.

Another example that you don't need to sign big name players or players from top teams to ensure they are successful ones.

Picked up from then midtable side Nurnberg for €4 million and went on to fill the void left by Sahin at Dortmund.
