You were right, Shelvey should start every game for the rest of the season imo. I still think Henderson will go on to great things with us though!

... What's the catch? I feel like I'm being tripped up here...

Nothing, I was impressed with him, he looked accomplished on the ball, dangerous and looked like he wants to make something happen. He's got a lot of silly mistakes in him though, he really needs to iron them out and mature as a player, however he's only 20 and there is no better time than now.

He treads a fine line between arrogant and cocky, which is always a good thing with a creative player

Decent prospect but not that good then he can be too much of the later, which I have seen he is sometimes

Hes got the raw tools, his judgement need to improve. Thats the only downside i've got for the lad.

He was a bit meh yesterday, but so was the whole team.

He'll come good though, he needs games.

Like most of our work shy team he's shit without the ball. Wish they would all pull their finger out and at least pretend that they give a shit.

The non-believers have started believing Fabio! This is a sign of great things to come!

I have to agree that like everyone else, he didn't have a great game yesterday. He is still to my mind the most talented midfielder at the club after Gerrard, and that warrants us giving him more game time than just 2 starts a season.

I reckon it's clear he has talent, but how, and to what extent he realises it, will, like with any other talented young player out there, be a function of how much consistent playing time he receives. Given that we have zilch to play for in the league now, I really hope we give him a proper opportunity to show us what he's capable of.

Echem, I feel like someone is missing from this conversation.

He is actually pretty good moving off the ball. However; for awhile yesterday it was clear he was supposed to stay deeper. I know its Gerrard's position but he is even better even further forward. But he'll make it wherever he plays as long as he gets time and patience (cause he has some foolishness in him).

That's the kind of thing that comes with games, I think. Hopefully he gets a good stint in the run-in. He can't possibly be as wasteful as Adam, or as spineless as Henderson. It's a shame Kenny didn't think to give him a go when we had something left to play for, but now he's got his opportunity, I do hope he makes the most of it.

Shelvey wants the ball and isnt afraid to try things, thats a good sign.
Im still a bit undecided regarding him but Id rather have him on the pitch than Henderson.

He's got talent.

What kills me is watching him play long balls up to Carroll. Fuck that off toute de fucking suite.

Yep, he should play and strikers who get in the box should play too, there was to many times when Shelvey came forward that Carroll decided to run out of the box for some inexplicable reason giving Shelvey no options.
