carroll is fucking dismal technically.

Rubbish.
FFF is spot-on in this thread.

Pfft, is he fuck. I cringed reding through his posts above. All hope, possibilities, how he's been unlucky, needs Gerrard around him, and here's some references to Alan Shearer, Torres and Michael Owen and the dry spells they went through in their career. Fucking spare me.
Those players did indeed go though a dry spell. Carroll has only ever gone through one fucking streak, the rest of his entire fucking football life is one big dry spell. Because he is absolutely diabolical. Look at him playing football and tell me youre not mortified every time you see him. He is awful, a million miles away from being good enough for us, and it's an embarrassment that he's in the same side as players like Steven Gerrard.

first off I will say I don't really rate carroll, he has very little of the things I want and expect a striker to have but what I will say is carroll is far better than what he is currently showing. he is one of the best headers of the ball I have ever seen and he absloutely monstered us way at newcastle (that said so did cruch for s'hampton).
when gerrard came on he gave carroll the type of service he has been lacking and crucially the type of service he enjoyed at n'castle.
bottom line we saw what carrolls strengths were before we bought him, purchased him and even purchased a player to give him the type of service he enjoyed at newcastle...and then didn't give him that type of service. carroll is what we is and I think we as a team are guiltly of not giving him the type of service that would play to his strengths.
we do it all the time as well, for example we buy strikers and then play them in wide areas and then moan when they don't perform like barnes on the wing.
we if play to carroll's strengths he'll score, if we aren't prepared to play to his strengths then we should sell him because if we're expect him to pull wide and stretch teams or drop deep and play between the lines, well, that shit just ain't gonna hapen.
