Brighton pre-match jibber jabbering

Posting this here too.

Pep Guardiola has stated Sergio Agüero will be out for a few weeks as he recovers from Covid in a further blow to Manchester City’s prospects.

Klopp:

"If they [the two new CBs] had to start together tomorrow that wouldn't be too cool. I think we will give them a few more days.

"We play three days later again so it means we are in a position where team patterns are very important and everyone needs to know what he is doing.

"These players are coming in new but we are really looking forward, it's work under time pressure but that's how it is.

"We have solutions here and now we have more options. I am really happy for it, for both players it is a big chance and for us as well and that's what I really like about the situation."

If we have any sort of a decent lead I could well imagine Davis coming on with 10 mins to go,
No need for 2 keepers on the bench tomorrow.

salah has to play this game ... without mane, we need him.
hopefully up 2-3 by half time and then sub him out and give Ox a full half to try and regain the form he last before that injury against roma.

You're in Momo's dreamland ! Klopp won't play a full strength side and Brighton may be down the bottom but they, like us, have been ravaged by injuries this season (and stillare). If we win the match by 2-3 goals I'll be very happy, never mind by HT and swapping our players !

Hope to be proven wrong but Brighton are not bad defensively. They havent conceded that many goals, their problem this year has been scoring. They will make this difficult, I dont expect we will be out of sight by half time.

They've had a very well drilled back 5 for most of the season, with White, Dunk & Webster being pretty consistent.

The only problems they caused us last time were from Connolly playing very well against our high line, I wonder if they'll start him again for that.

We know that Mane & Fabs are out now. I wonder if we would risk playing Shaq as part of a midfield 3 and starting with Mo, Bobby & Div up top. General consensus is that the new CBs won't start.

WTF? I’ve not said go full strength.

Brighton have a big game against Burnley this weekend regarding the relegation places.
They might rotate a bit against us.
Mac Allister and Veltman are a doubt.

They looked pretty good against Spurs but then again Spurs looked absolutely terrible, so hard to gauge what actually went down. They played quite expansive football against Spurs, left space in the middle and the final third across the park , spurs didn't/ couldn't utilise this space but hopefully Salah and co can.

Any news on whether Mane is ready for this ?

Klopp reported no other movement on the team's injury front ahead of the meeting with the Seagulls, with Sadio Mane, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Diogo Jota those recently sidelined.

Eep - surely he's back for City? can't be doing with Big Div starting at city irrespective of how he was actually ok against West Ham

Yeah, no shit. The more interesting decision will come for the city game when Kelleher is out due to the injury he will sustain tonight. I'd be inclined to go for Milner in goal.

All the luck we had with injuries the past couple seasons is coming home to roost. Everyone is broken or even dead, in some cases.

Ab injury rumours look like Twitter bullshit started by a 'news account' with 40 followers
