Aside from the now regular as clockwork errors his distribution is as poor as anything Ive seen from a top flight keeper, the one against Chelsea where he kicked it out for a corner was largely ignored cos the ref put him out of his misery but it was illustrative of a guy who just doesnt have the mental focus at the moment to be relied upon. The one against Palace was more damaging and it was more alarming that he did it under no pressure at all. Hes starting to remind me of Dudek in the games following his debacle against Utd where his mind was just not there
The Dude was a long way from our best keeper but he's nowhere near as bad as Ming. He was very suspect but Ming has been well and truly convicted.

I was never convinced about Dudek. His heroic display in Athens makes him a hero but I always thought he was quite dodgy. From brilliant saves to letting in piss easy goals. His slight frame made him easy to target for big strikers aswell.

After the Forlan goal he was just "gone".

From the bench?

You would think they would get on better really. They both like kebabs and salads and that and there is no real difference between raki and ouzo.
Arabs with shoes.

That's one description of Greeks that I've heard.

The only thing worse than having a spineless goalkeeper is the fact that we've got the worst number two keeper in the league.

How Rodgers managed to spend 120m in the summer without spending up to 10m (which buys a lot in the keeper market) on a keeper in world cup year (where a host of reasonably inexpensive keepers shone) is beyond me.

In fact, given the doubts about Mignolet from last season, it's maybe one of his biggest oversights.

GK is a specialist position so I don't know what or how they are coached but I do think he is let down by the defensive unit (LOL) we currently have, he gets far too much to do. Keep the opposition down to shots from distance would be a start.

Amazing one handed game - winning save today from Bojan. Outstanding.
This is why I liked him. He's capable of so fucking much

I honestly believe Rodgers has ruined him and a couple of our cbs

He's weird. All the reactionary, reflex stuff he's great at. In terms of shot stopping, he's one of the top 3 in the league. It's the rest of his play that is worrying. However, he played well today. He even sweeped up well at one point.

First he misses a cross, minutes later he produces a world class save.
What's with this keeper?

It's actually stranger than that. First he acted as a sweeper to clear up way outside the area then, a few minutes later, he won't even sweep up at his six yard line (though he did spread himself to ensure there was no goal).

Was utterly nowhere for the goal line clearance from Sterling (unless he told Sterling to get back there), flaps horribly for a cross which very nearly cost us and then pulls off a finger tip save a few minutes later.

We all said it last season: he's a great shot stopper but he's got zero idea how to dominate his penalty area. We were perhaps spoilt by Pepe who used to sweep up everything in a 5 mile radius for a couple of seasons and punched the ball so hard you could see a homicide coming if he had an off day.

Ming doesn't look like he could ever do any of that but he's one of the best shot stoppers we've seen for some time. Just when he looks to have played himself into another team he pulls out a couple of great saves that make you think "where would we have been if he wasn't there"?

He's certainly contributed.

I think Rodgers wanted to convert Mignolet in to a sweeper, but he doesn't know how to play that way, so now his arse has gone

He doesn't do much sweeping though. It's the stuff like actually catching a ball he's really weak on. You know, goalkeeper type stuff.

He started well with that. After we initially signed him, he tried sweeping a bit, but kept getting it wrong because it's not his natural game.

This knocked his confidence, and since then he's been behind a leaky back line so he's not able to get a run of clean sheets to build himself back up.

You just don't learn on the job at a big club. Certainly not as a keeper. It's not an age thing - you can have a precocious young keeper who's already good at the whole range of tasks - but if you play them before they've even started to learn certain aspects of the game, let alone mastered them, you run the risk of this kind of collapse.
