A done deal it seems ...

Should we try and get one of their stud midfielders that will now get less time on loan, or even a permanent deal? Gustavo? Kroos?

Best bet for me would be going after one of their CB's, possibly Badstuber. With Dante cemented, Kirchoff coming in, and Boateng also getting minutes, Badstuber could be looking to get some consistent minutes.

Looks like Bayern have 2 DM's(Gustavo, Martinez), 1 CM (Schweinsteiger) and 2 AM's(Kroos, Gotze) and Thiago would be their second CM. Not really sure who would be available if that's the case, but someone has to be the odd man out.

Martinez might drop to CB as well - he's played there in the past for Bilbao and Barca were looking at him at one point for their CB position.

Perhaps they just want a bigger squad.

Manchester United manager David Moyes says he is happy with how the club's summer transfer deals are going even though it looks like Thiago Alcantara is set for Bayern Munich.

Barcelona youngster Thiago has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer but Bayern now appear in pole position after Pep Guardiola confirmed he had instructed the club's board to bid for the player.

When asked about if the player was a target, Moyes was deliberately vague saying: "I never said at any time that he was (a target)."

United have added two players to their squad this summer: Wilfried Zaha who was actually purchased in January before returning to Crystal Palace on loan and Uruguayan defender Guillermo Varela, and Moyes admitted they are looking at other players.

"We're on with targets that we are chasing at this moment in time," he confirmed from Banghok in Thailand where they are for a pre-season friendly.

"There are people we are actively chasing and, at this moment in time, we're happy with how things are going."

I've mentioned Gustavo a few times before. He's very good. Would really like him here.

On a side note, I kinda feel for Javi Martinez. There was rumours Pep wanted him to play CB for Barca but he moved to Bayern instead as to be deployed in a midfield role. Pep comes to Munich and there is talk of Martinez being moved to CB already to accommodate players. Ah well, i'm sure he'll get over it.

Gustavo would be an amazing signing for us, affordable and very good, but the odds of it happening are depressingly low.
