Its been on a few other Liverpool forums, thats why I said stories.
Not newspaper stories etc.

Knowing how the rumours are in the city it could very well be bollocks.
But it doesnt change my opinion on his attitude at times on the pitch.

Brilliant.

Report hearsay as fact, with no proof whatsoever.

Great.

So nothing. There's a great thread full of inside info in management chat here - from the koptalk gold club people that used to get things right

Suffice to say we'd have been sold two years ago, Jose Mourinho would be manger, a Real Madrid executive would be our CEO, munian would be playing for us and a whole array of other things would have happened if any of it had been correct

You read that as a fact??????
Christ, from now on its posting yes or no, nothing else to every thread and question.

Because its been mentioned on a few other sites, and the last time I checked there are more people living in Liverpool than those posting on this site.
Imho, his attitude is part of why Rodgers sold him and this would confirm his possible lack of commitment.

Dont worry, I wont be bringing anything up in the future without fingerprints, pictures, videos or signed documents. I'll send you one of Jonjos used bottles in the Mail if it happens in Wales.

It will be interested to see how Laudrup uses him ... I think it can go either way - I just can't see him breaking into the Swansea 1st 11 consistently to be as successful this year as Ross thinks he will be, nor be as poor as others have made out to be.

I've heard the boozing stories, mentioned to me by a respected local poster in a PM so I won't say who it was.

As for Shelvey, I think he's a beast. Gutted we sold him and have him in my fanstasy football team for this season. Him and Bony will be beasts together.

Every ditched player thinks they "weren't given enough chances". It's usually accompanied by "I was great in training".

Yeah. Me too. Erm, and themn heard them too if I remember the context right....

I think his main problem is his decision-making is too slow, which was especially obvious whenever he played further up in attack. He is a good passer when he has time and space. I hope some years from now he will find his best position as a deep-lying playmaker. But he is way too "green" to be the midfield conductor now, at least not for a top team.

His main problem was that he was completely unable to find space against half-decent opposition. It's all fair and well being neat and tidy on the ball, but if you can't get near the fucking thing in the first place you're not much use.

Time and time again he got completely crowded out against any opposition worth their salt.

He did manage to find space on the box though. He perpetually missed sitters. You can't miss sitters unless you're in the right position

Yes but as a midfielder you're also supposed to find players in the box, you know "be creative".

It's clear that the club / Rodgers didn't rate him highly enough to work with him because he was used more as squad filler than a young player being managed towards a future at the club.

I'd be surprised if anyone disagrees with the fact that Shelvey does have a lot of natural ability. The only question really at this point is whether Liverpool guessed right on whether he'll ever be able to capitalize on it.

I guess we didn't feel like a loan would tell us any more than we already know (I'm hoping the sale wasn't largely financially motivated), but hopefully we covered our backs with some clauses for the future.

Jonjo has the talent but not the mentality. Once he gets a handle on his mentality, he'll be a boss player.

To the Bat cave....

*doesn't know where the bat cave is*

*disappointed*

I heard yesterday that carra has told his mates suarez is definitely going & Costa plus one other will be the only 'big' signings we make.

How true it is I don't know, even if it is how much carra knows may be debatable also.

Shelvey's problem is that he doesn't absorb information very well. I think it's a byproduct of having confidence in his own ability, and being a bit dense. He's got a fair bit of adapting to do to fit into Laudrup's style, which is obviously not dissimilar to ours. He's not comfortable moving the ball quickly, and seems to want time to pick a killer pass. That said, he has the talent, and if he gets a good run of games and a bit of confidence from Laudrup, then I think he'll start to blossom.

Yeah, I still think he could make it, he's got quite a few flaws, he's still extremely raw, but his passing ability and his eye for goal give you alot to work with. I don't buy this notion that he was given enough time, certainly not in the right conditions. He was played wide, played as a front man when Suarez was injured/suspended and most of his game time was during the first half of the season when we forced to play Suso, Sterling and the whole set up was struggling to bed in.

I think this will bite us on the arse. I'll always have fond memories, if only because he gave it to that twat up the East Lancs.

He made 71 appearances for us and only scored 6 goals it is hard to say he has an eye for goal when you couple that with some of the chances he missed for us and England as seen below. He can get into good positions in fairness but most of the time he just seems to lack the concentration to put these chances away.

I'd say the miss that really stands out for me was the one late on against Zenit ... He couldn't even hit the target, and that was our last chance to stay in Europe ...

I could never take to him. Yes, he's young and he works hard. But he seems clueless half the time. On the whole I just didn't rate him. He won't be missed.
