If Lucas is our problem than we have none. Giving Lucas the blame for whats going on is just priceless entertainment... as a matter of fact, I don´t blame the players at all, just the ones who shipped Rafa out.

There´s only the brasilian national squad who can play without tactics, we are and will be fucked by a very average manager tactical wise... Well the dressing seems to be happy apart from getting bossed on the field cause motivation only simply isn´t enough in today´s football. But Gerrard and Carra probably know that. Probably...

Probably the only Liverpool player who can hold his head up tonight. What little possession we had came from Lucas. The only headers we won were won by Lucas.

Gerrard's not a central midfield player is he

He had a good game tonight, I'd say our best player did all the running and all the fighting he could with little or no help but he needs someone in the midfield alongside him, he can't be back there on his own if Gerrard is playing in the middle he'll be too exposed.

Good effort from the lad tonight, although no doubt he'll be slaughtered by some quarters.

He was positionally better than Gerrard, passed well, found the strikers with passes to feet and not long balls. He has nothing to prove, he's a fucking solid player and without his contribution it could have been worse than 3-0.

To be fair he is getting a lot of stick from some posters as well.

A fair few are obviously into the chalkboard analysis side of things, so it's quite amazing that they can get it so badly wrong. I suppose that's where being fucking mental comes into it though.

More than any other player except Gerrard, I've seen him play passes that can set up pass and move movements. Not just the through balls that everyone can appreciate, but also passes that start these moves, that are harder for fans to recognise the importance of. The late 80s Liverpool played lots of them, a well-drilled 2-3 passes pattern that would get the opposition defence struggling to catch up with play. The problem with Lucas is he doesn't reliably do passes over a certain range. Which isn't a fault of his, as very, very few players can do it. But it means he has to be within a certain range before he can do damage, and he also needs intelligent movement up front to aim for. Perhaps he should play a more English style and play percentage balls into danger areas rather than aim for teammates, but right now that isn't his style.

You know what Hazell if I was Lucas I would ask to leave.

I would think Rafa didnt play me right and now Roy wants me in the same role as what Rafa did. I would be looking at the likes of Barry, fletcher and think I can be better than them but I am not played how they're but I should be. So fuck it I am off.

I wouldnt blame the lad at all cause he has the talent but he is not allowed to express it at LFC and cause of this he is coming accross like an average player.

The part in bold had me cracking up. When he is not caught in possession or tripping over himself he passes the ball 5 yards to the left or right, or better yet back to the defender. I guess my knowledge of the game is so bad, I don't see the importance and skill of this.

Plus they make it seem like Lucas is not making killer passes, because no one up front is getting in good positions, I just picture all the players freezing whenever he gets the ball, and as soon as he passes it sideways, they all start running again.
