Pre-season already!

Leicester were going through the motions once we scored our first, but that being said, every single player looked hungry and ready and we were sharp and dangerous through the middle and up front for 75% of that match. Could have scored twice what we did in the end.

Not going to get carried away, but it was far better than I expected getting up at 3:50am to watch, and it's was all very promising.

From the small clips I saw first half, it seems like we're still a bit all over the place defensively, because we're trying to cover the massive spaces TAA leaves behind when he drifts.

The forward press is much better though, which also helps - Slobbers pressing is excellent.

Gakpo was quiet playing a more forward role, but him dropping deep to cover for Slobbers pushing high and pressing was useful.

Much better one-on-one defending by van Dijk this match, less so Konaté and he tended to droptoo deep when defending (less confidence?)I do like the look of Clark, Mac Alister and Szoboszlai— they really press well.

Still this is still about building match sharpness and fitness and getting the combinations right so will not read too much into this result. Hopefully no major injuries as Leicester collectively played like a bunch of thugs.

Was the lad Quansah any good? I saw he made one great block.

Where was he playing? DM? CB? RB?

Just the size of him. He looks a good physical specimen. No idea if he's quick/strong.

He was calm collected, did his job reasonably well without fuss.....he played the full 2nd half at LCB.

Actually no, he came off with about 5mins to go after he took a bad challenge just above his ankle.

Looks a unit, not seen his recovery pace over a long distance but I'd imagine it's quicker than Matip but not Gomez/Virgil level.

He was pretty good - strong, good distribution - steady.

He played LCB with Matip as RCB - but Tsimikas at LB was doing what Trent did at RB in the first half, so they moved to a 3 with Gomez tucking in at RB.

Gomez did get up the pitch on the right as the game went on & Matip made a few forward runs - so Quansah held back more.

I wouldn’t say he’s quite ready, but he looked like he could do a job if we absolutely needed him to.

Why can't Quansah be our own Colwill?

His market value right is what? £5-10m? Same what Colwill was before last season......player values can shoot up 200% in the space of 6-12 months, we've seen this first hand.

As a good old wise man once said, if we play our cards right......

He definitely had presence (he is tall and hench). Put this way I'd rather have in the CB position than Gomez

We need to loan him to Brighton then.

The first step to playing our cards right would be finding the best loan move for him.....doesn't have to be Brighton, Colwill only played like a dozen games for them anyway, the boy is 21 in 6 months and needs regular football..... After today Leicester could do with a defender, and it'd be cool to see his journey there.

I think there’s a good chance that young Clark has a breakthrough season and gets some games under his belt - not unlike Badgertits last year - particularly if Curtis ends up being deployed in a deeper position.

I don't want to see Curtis playing further back. He looked great as the advanced left midfielder during the run-in last year.

Those goals at the back post with Trent or Mo serving them up? More, please!

Yeah but Slobbers ghosting in at the far post is equally sexy!!!

I think Curtis will like play both positions over the season…. when he’s not injured or crushed under the weight of Moron’s love.

Worth a punt, I guess.

BTW it’s pretty incredible to see a full stadium for an open training session. People are really hungry to experience LFC in person and that’s why despite all the inconvenience it causes in preparation, we go to South Asia every summer.

@King Binny, were you there by any chance?

I thought the turnout would be a lot better than this, disappointed. Where are you sat @King Binny

It's a working weekend for me so I missed both the training session and match vs. Leicester.

To get a decent view of the match, the cost would have been SGD199-299 (£118-178) whereas tickets for the training session was available at around SGD20 each (£11). With the match against Bayern only a few days later, I think most fans opted for that one instead of today's.

Not many tickets left it seems:

That's embarrassing, the club set this price??

I think it's the organizers. Today's official attendance was 28,597. Last year's match vs Crystal Palace was almost full house at 55k (was a Friday night). The Bayern match's attendance should be closer to that figure (it's on a Wed night though).

I don’t get it

What Stevie said in response to me was a "joke", that went over his head.

Don't really see why the discussion of loaning out a youth prospect would need to be categorised as such but that's some people for you.

I was kidding. As in I didn’t get the explanation about someone not getting a joke.

Ill get my coat

Wait… I was joking when I said loan him to Brighton????
